CER HARDWARE SETUP Technics 1200 1210 Setup Technics 1200 1210 DICER Getting Started Guide V1 0 Page 3 GETTING STARTED GUIDE OVERVIEW The Dicer is a unique controller for Serato s Scratch Live DJ software and provides DJs with tactile controls for hot cues loops and other functions With 5 pads and 6 operating modes each Dicer can control up to 30 functions in a pocket size controller that fits neatly into your DJ setup The unit comes ready to mount into any Technics 1200 1210 turntable or can be used with other decks and CDJs Two Dicers can be daisy chained for independent control of Decks AandB This Getting Started Guide will help you set up your Dicers with Serato s Scratch Live software We will assume that you are familiar with Scratch Live and that your computer meets its system requirements Please visit the Serato website at http www serato com for further information on Scratch Live SETUP By using two Dicers each deck has independent access to cues loops and other functions 1 Using the micro USB cable provided connect the Dicer installed on Deck A the left deck to the USB port of your computer 2 Using the 1 8 TRS jack cable provided link the two Dicers together 3 Start the Scratch Live software The dual Dicer configuration is automatically detected by Scratch Live If all your connections are correct then each Dicer will operate the cue

4. an existing cue point press a lit dice button e g button 1 Playback instantly jumps to the stored cue point marker 3 To store a new cue point press an unlit dice button e g button 2 The current playhead position is stored the dice button lights and the Cue Point on the Scratch Live display updates 4 To delete an existing cue point hold down the Ha lt 33 45 gt gt ABS REL INT CUE POINT mode button while you press one of N the dice buttons 00 31 7 The deleted cue point can now be re set by pressing an unlit dice button The Dicer can control the Loop Roll feature within Scratch Live This allows you to press and hold a dice button to repeatedly roll a beat or fraction of a beat when you release the button looping stops and playback resumes as if the loop roll had never been activated For example if you hold the 1 beat loop roll button for 4 beats and then release playback resumes 4 beats after the initial button press In other words your track remains in sync Each of the 5 dice buttons triggers a different loop length 1 1 16 Beat 2 1 8 Beat 3 1 4 Beat 4 1 2 Beat 5 1 Beat 1 Press the LOOP ROLL mode button it lights in green All 5 dice buttons light half lit to indicate that they may be triggered NOTE Loop Rolling requires a track to have a valid BPM value stored in the ID3 tag If the loaded track does not have a BPM calculated Loop Rolling will not be possib
