22. compressed and sent to the engine This process forces the air temperature to increase with heat So when it does the air density drops and combustion efficiency becomes poor resulting to performance loss The intercoolers job is then to extract the heat from the forced air via the fins in the intercooler This again helps compress the air again and the denser colder air will improve combustion efficiency to optimize performance Engine Tuning with a STOCK ENGINE 2 2L 2 5L Base BLOW OFF VALVE M7760 RECOMMENDED Recirculation Type M 960 Strengthened Type The Non Vent To Atmosphere Type RECOMMENDED M8265 Strengthened Type The Non Vent To Atmosphere Type When the throttle is suddenly closed the forced air from the Turbine will have no where to go This restricted flow places a heavy burden on the turbo and other parts So the Blow Off Valve is fitted somewhere between the turbo and the throttle to prevent this problem by giving an option of an escape route to vent the excess pressure This saves the turbo from any possible problems The stock BOV was never designed to handle high boost applications so it will struggle to do its job properly when the limits are exceeded This puts the turbo at risk of failure and response drops This is why we recommend to upgrade the BOV to a stronger type Additionally when the BOV is a vent to atmosphere type this can cause other problems with the ECU not being able to read correct air volume tha

MENDED TOMEI H BEAM CONRODS H BEAM CONRODS M8265 RECOMMENDED TOMEI H BEAM CONRODS The stock connecting rods are one of the weak points of the EJ engine When aiming for more than 350PS then it is highly recommended to upgrade the connecting rods 18 STOCK ENGINE 2 2L 2 5L Base BOOST SETTINGS Using a Boost Controller Using a Boost Controller 1 4 1 5kg cm 19 9 21 3psi 1 6kg cm 22 8psi Luezes At 1 6kg cm2 22 8psi of boost the ARMS M7760 is capable of 380PS the M7960 is capable of 400PS and the M8265 the largest one is capable of 450PS The stock engine first weak point is the head gasket So at the very least the upgrade of the head gasket to the metal type is highly recommend So with the upgrade of the head gasket to the metal type and the rest of the engine remains stock The limit then will be 350PS with either the M7760 or M7960 The above figures is with 1 4 1 5kg cm2 19 9 21 3psi of boost When Forged Pistons and H Beam Connecting rods you can then run up to 1 6kg cm2 22 8psi of boost But again that depends on the cars setup and condition Boost should only be set when in 4th or 5th gear As when it is changed whilst in lower gear the higher load in lower gear will result in the wrong boost settings It s not unusual to see on some occasions when the rpm reaches its peak and the Engine Tuning with a STOCK ENGINE 2 2L 2 5L Base M7760 ACTUATOR SETTINGS M7960 The pre set pressure is

30. closing the cap Have a new copper washer ready for when closing the air plug Air Bleeder Plug Torque Specs 6 9 7 8N m 0 7 0 8kgm Close the radiator cap and have the engine running the thermostat will keep the coolant circulating Check the water temp gauge to see if the temperature is rising and also carefully feel the hose if there is warm water flowing through it Once the thermostat is checked and working properly checks the water temperature to see that it is not rising abnormally fast You can do this by holding the revs at 2 500 RPM for 10secs at a time for about 2 3 times Stop the engine After the engine has cooled down open the radiator cap and check the coolant fluid level again to see if the coolant level has dropped or not If it has then you will need to repeat the above process again When the fluid is no longer receding then you can top it up to the noted limit or till you reach the max on the reservoir Start the engine let the engine idle at 3000rpm and check that the heater core has the sound of water flowing through it Check the instrument panel until you see the liquid level stop dropping INSTALLATION VERIFICATION 1 2 3 4 5 6 Check the E Brake with the gear in neutral to ensure that it is working Double check for any signs of water and oil leaks during idling When the engine is turned off check the water and oil levels again to be sure that they are at the right
