Information Science Faculty of Engineering Kyushu Kyoritsu University Vice Manager Inter University Information Processing Educational and Research Institute ABSTRACT A large quantity of paper documents occur in office work and research of a university but the preservation and search characteristics are very difficult Therefore I performed a trial to do electronic documentation of a paper document in the easy form of the search We decided to perform the input of the electronic document from the copy machine that is almost set up by an office n automatic paper feed device is almost put on a copier and the reading of the paper is high speed too At first I read a document as an image with a copier and detect these read data as a character code with OCR afterwards In the case of a clear print letter the precision of the OCR is recognitions more than 9996 Because did it 32 as a keyword for searches the letter that OCR recognized is not necessary for the complete recognition When a user reads a document after it was searched it is legible enough in order that a human being reads a scanned image Because the size of the image data is big the handling was difficult but does not become the problem that much before by the present I performed reduction of the time to search it with the reduction of the preservation place becau
