SAFETY You can find Safety Guide as well as all other documentation at www aldebaran com documentation Also you can access Aldebaran Robotics Customer Support at www aldebaran com customer_care www aldebaran com documentation URL URL www aldebaran com customer_care SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS Please read the following information not doing so may lead you to void the warranty of the Humanoid Robot This documentation covers your safety handling disposal recycling and regulatory information to use your Robot WARNING It is strongly recommended that people handling the Robot follow these safety guidelines for their personal safety The guidelines will help you protect the Robot and its working environment from damage This safety guide does not cover all possible conditions that may occur For the purpose of this document me or my refers to the Humanoid Robot and you or your refers to the Human WARNING Even if look human am still an object am not intended for use by children under 14 years or any person with reduced ph
21. 3 Place yourself as shown in Figure 8 with your feet on each side 4 Lift me up to the Slump posture by putting your hands underarm 5 Remove the Brake Release Keys 6 Thoroughly check me over to see what damage has been done to me If casing has become unclipped please refer to the User Manual in the online Documentation for reclipping instructions Figure 8 7 If there is some other apparent damage do not proceed to the next step but contact Aldebaran Robotics Support If there is no other apparent damage to me use vigilance Release the Stop Button Press Chest Button to turn ON Look out for smoke smell or other unusual signs In this case press the Stop Button and contact Aldebaran Robotics Support If do not start contact Aldebaran Robotics Support SPILT LIQUIDS e USE APPROPRIATE CAUTION Carry out these procedures ONLY if it is safe to do so e Use extreme caution when removing wet power cables from a Socket or extension cable e Liquids spilt onto me or my Battery Charger may enter the casing or other entry points and are a potential device killer causing short circuits The warranty will automatically void if any liquid seeps inside me or my Battery Charger whether apparent from the outside or not e Do not use me in a wet environment for example in the rain or near a bath tub sink or swimming pool or in a wet basement e Never connect or disconnect the Battery Charger w

PERSONAL SAFETY 14 SPECIAL PROCEDURES 18 REGULATORY COMPLIANCE INFORMATION HANDLING amp PERSONAL SAFETY GENERAL EN e In general avoid touching me when am moving my arms or going about e Avoid inserting any object under the soft material that covers my joints e Take care not to make me fall e Do not exert strong forces on me Pushing against my motors will damage them e Do not block my sensors See User Manual for their location e Tactile sensors are hidden underneath my casing and detect touch without any moving parts e Do not lean on me BUTTONS Please take a few moments to locate ethe Chest Button it is located under my ethe Stop Button it is located behind my neck tablet see Figure 1 under the soft plastic cover see Figure 2 It is not necessary to lift the plastic cover to hit the Stop button Figure 1 Figure 2 HANDLING Do not hesitate to press my Stop Button in any kind of emergency situation These include e f come close to danger of being wet falling over for example e Before knock objects over or behave unpredictably e f don t behave according to application description If there is no emergency recommend you not touch me during my actions unless expressly invite you to do so Otherwise remember that may be destabilized if am disturbed in my activities To turn me back ON again refer to the User Manual e Beware when walking too close to my wheels
27. ith wet hands e Do not use the Battery Charger if exposed to rain liquid or excessive moisture e Never attempt to dry me with an external heat source such as a hairdryer or an oven EN A If liquid has not seeped inside my plastic casing e If you are certain of this and only a few drops of liquid were split on me you should 1 Disconnect all cables shut OFF the Battery Charger and disconnect it from the Socket 2 Hit the Stop Button to turn me OFF 3 Wipe me dry 4 When thoroughly dry put my Battery Charger into operation Release the Stop Button Press Chest Button to turn ON B If liquid has leaked inside me 1 Disconnect all cables shut OFF the Battery Charger and disconnect it from the Socket 2 Hit the Stop Button to turn me OFF 3 Dry me as much as possible 4 Contact Aldebaran Robotics Support Do not use my Battery Charger or me C If liquid is spilt on the Battery Charger e Also check both A and B above 1 f connected to the Socket switch OFF at the circuit breaker 2 Remove the power cable from the Socket 3 Disconnect the Battery Charger from me and leave disconnected 4 Wipe the Battery Charger and put it to dry 5 Contact Aldebaran Robotics Support REGULATORY COMPLIANCE INFORMATION The robot complies with the requirements of the following European Directive as well as European and International standards e R amp TTE Directive 1999 5 EC e Wireles
