Display angezeigt Ist der BEEP eingeschaltet so wird das Dr cken der Taste mit einem Beep und das Dr cken der Taste W mit zwei Beeps quittiert Lautst rkeeinstellung VOL Die Lautst rkeeinstellung geschieht mit dem inneren Knopf VOL des Doppelpotenziometers an dem auch das Ger t eingeschaltet wurde Bei fehlendem Empfangssignal und ausgeschalteter Rauschsperre sollte das Rauschen in der Modulationsart FM gut zu h ren sein Das empfangene Sprachsignal bei FM ist generell etwas leiser als das Rauschen ohne Signal Nach Einstellen der Lautst rke sollte die Rauschsperre aktiviert werden Rauschsperre Squelch SQ Jedes Funkger t und somit auch die stabo xm 5003 besitzt eine Schaltung zur Rauschunterdr ckung Squelch die bei fehlendem oder zu schwachem Signal das Rauschen unterdr ckt Der Signal pegel bei dem die Schaltung eingreift kann mit dem SQ ASC Einsteller justiert werden Der SQ ASC Einsteller ist der ussere Knopf des Doppelpotenzi ometers Drehen nach links verringert Drehen nach rechts erh ht diesen Pegel Bei wechselnden Empfangsbedingungen wie im Mobilbetrieb kann ein h ufiges Nachregeln erforderlich sein A utomatic S quelch C ontrol Bei der ASC handelt es sich um eine patentierte Schaltung der Groupe President Electronics SA Frankreich Diese Schaltung wertet den sogenannten Rauschabstand Verh ltnis von Nutzsignal zu St rsignal aus Das Nutzsignal wird nur dann zum Lautsprecher durchgeschalt

EL 40 FM channels The selected channel configuration is indicated at the bottom right of the display Changing the configuration For changing the configuration please proceed as follows Switch the radio set off Hold the F key pressed and switch on the radio set anew The formerly selected channel configuration flashes now on the display Use the channel selection keys A or W to select one of the three configurations d EU or EC Press the F key anew until a beep sound and the display stops flashing Switch the radio set off and on again The new channel configuration is now indicated at the bottom right of the display and the radio set is ready for operation using the new channel configuration In Germany this radio set is free of charge and can be operated with each channel configuration without any registration Before using your radio set abroad make yourself familiar with the applicable regulations for the respective countries and consider a possible compulsory registration Reception Channel selection CH Using the two channel selection keys CH A and W you can adjust the requested channel which you wish to use for hearing If a key is pressed for more than half a second the Auto Repeat function is activated and the channel automatically switches to the next 26 channel Furthermore the channel can also be selected with the microphone The received channel is shown on the display If the key BEEP is
8. activated pressing the A key is confirmed by one beep and pressing the W key is confirmed by two beeps Volume control VOL The volume is set using the inner knob VOL of the double poten tiometer which is also used for switching on the radio set When the receive signal is lacking and the squelch function is deactivated the noise should be audible very well in FM modulation In FM the received speech signal is always a bit quiter than the noise without signal After having set the volume the squelch function should be activated Squelch SQ Each radio set and consequently the xm 5003 as well features a function for noise suppression squelch suppressing the repro duction if the signal is lacking or too weak Use the SQL ASC control to adjust the signal level at which the function is activated The SQ ASC control is the outer knob of the double potentiometer By turning the knob to the left the signal level is reduced by turning the knob to the right the signal level is increased With constantly varying conditions of reception as for example during mobile operation a frequent adjustment of this level can be necessary A utomatic S quelch C ontrol The ASC function is a patented function elaborated by the President Electronics SA France group This function evaluates the so called signal to noise ratio ratio between the useful signal and the inter fering signal The useful signal is only forwarded to the loudspeaker
9. berwacht werden dr cken Sie erneut f r ca 2 Sekunden auf die Taste HI CUT Stellen Sie dann die Rauschsperre so ein dass das Rauschen gerade verschwindet Nach ca 3 Sekunden beginnt das Ger t automatisch zwischen den beiden Kan len zu wechseln Wird auf einem der beiden berwachten Kan len ein ausreichend starkes Signal empfangen so bleibt das Ger t auf diesem Kanal stehen Erst wenn f r l nger als drei Sekunden kein Signal mehr auf diesem Kanal empfangen wird wechselt das Ger t wieder in den DW Modus Sollte dagegen in dieser Zeit auf Senden geschaltet werden so wird der DW Modus automatisch abgeschaltet Die DW Funktion wird durch l ngeren Druck ca 2 Sek auf die Taste HI CUT ausgeschaltet Quittungston BEEP Ein Druck von zwei Sekunden auf die Taste CH19 9 schaltet den Quittungston BEEP aus und nach erneutem Druck wieder ein Im Display wird das anstelle der Kanalnummer f r ca drei Sekunden durch bP on oder bP of angezeigt 12 S Meter W hrend des Empfangs wird die St rke des empfangenen Signals durch eine Balkenanzeige im Display sichtbar gemacht Dabei handelt es sich um das sogenannte S Meter Bei einer Spannung von 50 uV Mikrovolt am Empf ngereingang wird S9 angezeigt Signale ab S5 sollten einwandfrei zu verstehen sein Senden Zum Senden dr cken Sie die PTT Taste push to talk Taste an der linken Seite des Mikrofons Halten Sie die Taste gedr ckt und sprechen Sie mit normaler Lautst
10. is always enough scope left for adjusting it to the given conditions In practical operation this means that a new antenna is usually too long For adjusting the antenna a VSWR bridge e g President TOS 1 article no 50004 is connected into the circuit between the stabo xm 5003 and the antenna and the antenna is shortened or elon gated according to the manufacturer s information such that the VSWR on your preferred channel or one of the median channels is as small as possible For this set the radio set to FM modulation to work always with a constant transmitting power when measuring In any case a value of lt 1 2 should be achieved For mobile operation it does not make much sense to adjust a value of 1 1 by all means since this value can always be modified again due to different environments cable modifications etc However we recommend you to check the adjustment regularly because an unfavourable value points to connector and cable problems Power supply A direct voltage of 13 2 volts max is supplied to your radio set which is equipped with a reverse voltage protection However before switching it on check the device for correct polarity The nominal supply voltage amounts to 13 2 V and must not exceed 15 V in any case 24 When transmitting an electric current of approx 1 3 A flows up to 0 8 A when receiving at maximum volume and approx 0 3 A with activated squelch The negative pole is connected to ground
