6. 146 Centellis 4100 Getting Started 6806800E18B Installing the ATCA F120 5 1 Overview This chapter describes how to install the ATCA F120 into the system These main steps and their sequence are 1 Unpack and inspect the blade Make sure environmental and power requirements are met Configure the Centellis 4100 Install the Centellis 4100 oe ow LN If applicable install AMC modules vty Ifthe ATCA F120 is already preinstalled in your system configuration you can disregard the NN following sections 5 2 Unpacking and Inspecting the Blade NOTICE Damage of Circuits Electrostatic discharge and incorrect installation and removal of the blade can damage circuits or shorten their life Before touching the blade or electronic components make sure that your are working in an ESD safe environment Centellis 4100 Getting Started 6806800E18B 147 Installing the ATCA F120 5 3 5 3 1 148 Shipment Inspection To inspect the shipment perform the following steps 1 Verify that you have received all items of your shipment 2 Check for damage and report any damage or differences to the customer service 3 Remove the desiccant bag shipped together with the blade and dispose of it according to your country s legislation The blade is thoroughly inspected before shipment If any damage occurred during transportation or any items are missing please contact our customer s service immediately Environmen

When operating the blade in areas of electromagnetic radiation ensure that the blade is bolted on the system and the system is shielded by enclosure Centellis 4100 Getting Started 6806800E1 8B 83 ATCA 7221 Safety Notes Injuries or Short Circuits Blade or power supply In case the ORing diodes of the blade fail the blade may trigger a short circuit between input line A and input line B so that line A remains powered even if it is disconnected from the power supply circuit and vice versa To avoid damage or injuries always check that there is no more voltage on the line that has been disconnected before continuing your work Switch Settings Blade Malfunction Switches marked as reserved might carry production related functions and can cause the blade to malfunction if their setting is changed Therefore do not change settings of switches marked as reserved The setting of switches which are not marked as reserved has to be checked and changed before blade installation Blade Damage Setting resetting the switches during operation can cause blade damage Therefore check and change switch settings before you install the blade PMC Modules 84 Limited Power on PMC Modules and RTMs The blade does not provide an extra fuse for PMC modules and RTMs PMC modules and RTMs used together with the blade have to be qualified according to the following standards IEC 60950 1 EN 60950 1 UL 60950 1 CAN CSA C22 2 No 60950 1
