1. Safety Features Automatic Grease System This system ensures lift slide and grabber cylinder pins and related parts receive the required amount of grease Consult the OEM manual for more information Back Up Alarm The back up alarm sounds when the transmission is put into reverse or the tailgate opens Console Warning Lights The console warning lights alert the operator to the following conditions Arm Not Parked The arm is extended If the vehicle is in motion this presents a severe hazard to pedestrians as well as the risk of striking another vehicle Packer Blade Stall The packer blade has stalled Body Raise The body is not firmly seated on the chassis The body should only be raised during unloading and maintenance Tailgate Ajar The tailgate is not fully closed The tailgate should only be open during unloading and maintenance Hydraulic Oil Temperature The hydraulic oil temperature is dangerously high Continuing to operate the hydraulic functions may result in serious damage Access Ladder The access laader is deployed All hydraulic functions should be locked out Hopper Cover if equipped The hopper cover is closed In some cases the warning light is accompanied by a buzzer C LEACH INC OPERATIONS MANUAL Last Updated 8 7 02 15 CROCODILE AUTO SIDE LOADER CHAPTER 1 SAFETY FIRST

B mt Completing the Safety Lockout Tests Hopper Cover Limit Switch if equipped Completing this test ensures that you can not accidentally dump refuse on top of the hopper cover Hopper Cover 1 Close the hopper cover 2 Attempt a dump cycle with an EMPTY can 3 Ifthe dump cycle completes notify your maintenance supervisor immediately The lift should still function to approximately 1 3 of the full lift height IPF C Completing this test ensures that you can not accidentally dump refuse on top of the hopper cover Body Raised Limit Switch Completing this test ensures you know when the body is properly seated on the chassis The body should always be seated unless unloading or service is being performed Never drive the unit while the body is raised CAUTION 1 Lower the body using the in cab console Hoist switch Exit the cab and visually confirm that the body is firmly seated on Completing this test ensures you know when the body is properly the chassis seated on the chassis The bod n should always be seated E 2 Enter the cab raise the body using the in cab console Hoist 2 service is being switch and note when the body raised lamp illuminates and the buzzer sounds Both should occur immediately Ifthe lamp does not illuminate and or buzzer does not sound notify your

CALITION Straighten the wheels Set the chassis park brake Switch ON the hydraulic pump The switch lamp will be illuminated Open the hopper cover if equipped Push the tailgate switch down to the CLOSE position This will relieve any pressure from the tailgate locks and aid removal Remove both tailgate locks LEACH INC OPERATIONS MANUAL 65 CROCODILE AUTO SIDE LOADER CHAPTER 3 VEHICLE OPERATION Ve 1 Unloading Refuse Unloading Refuse 1 Open the tailgate The tailgate ajar warning lamp will illuminate and the back up alarm will sound The tailgate must be fully open while unloading CALITPION The tailgate must be fully open while unloading 2 Press the AUTOPACK button The AUTOPACK cycle will clear the hopper of any refuse while unloading 3 Raise the body fully The body raised warning lamp will illuminate and the buzzer will sound 4 Release the chassis park brake allow the force of the load to push the unit forward irc Always be alert of what is in front of the Side Loader The foot brake should be released while you unload to 5 Drive the unit slightly forward as the load is unloaded This prevents refuse from building up under the tailgate The Side Loader s center of gravity is very high when the
