Before using the calibrator check the housing and check the calibrator for missing plastic parts and cracks Pay particular atten tion to the insulation surrounding the connectors m Select the proper function and correct measuring range W Before commissioning the calibrator close the battery compartment and lock it W Before opening the battery compartment disconnect the measuring lines of the hand held temperature calibrator m Check the measuring lines for signs of damaged insulation or metal parts with natural finish m When using probes keep the fingers away from the probe contacts Hold the probes behind the finger protection at the measuring lines m Do not use the hand held temperature calibrator in case of malfunc tion The instrument protection might be compromised In cases of doubt have the hand held temperature calibrator repaired m Do not operate the hand held temperature calibrator in ambiences with explosive gases vapours or dusts m Disconnect the measuring lines prior to switching to another measurement or before using as a simulator W Incorrect measurements can lead to an electric shock or injuries To avoid this replace the batteries immediately when a used battery is indicated W in order to guarantee a trouble free operation the hand held temperature calibrator should only be battery driven or driven by rechargeable batteries WARNING In order to avoid damages at the temperature calibrator or the dev
