23. bH 3 Operation instructions R NTEC EDWIN 98 NT 1 The RONTEC EDWIN program system 1 1 Introduction EDWIN consists of several separate programs RONTEC WinShell for measuring X ray spectra and identifying the elements and RONTEC WinTools for qualitative and quantitative spectrum evaluation In addition to that there are implemented a spectra viewer SpcView and the print program SpcPrint The hardware is controlled and adjusted with WinShell Element windows can be set up to determine element distributions Archiving spectra comparing spectra setting line markers for element identification are only some of the tasks which can be carried out with WinShell WinTools provides all functions for processing and evaluation of energy dispersive measured X ray spectra which were successfully used for many years under the name RONTEC Tools A wide range of customer experience and requirements obtained from servicing of the spectrometers EDR 288 and the M series was taken into account in the development of the software and is now available under the name of RONTEC WinTools RONTEC WinShell is intuitive in its operation and it provides the accustomed functions for users who are experienced with WINDOWS The spectral determination process permits the standardised measure modes and provides a live presentation of the pulse height spectrum increase during the measuring process An intelligent line marker permits fast identification of the elements even w
