E Connection in the PTP Mode Windows XP Windows Vista Windows 7 and Mac OS X only Select PictBridge PTP when connecting USB cable Data can now be read only from the card into the PC When there are 1000 or more pictures on a card the pictures may not be imported in the PTP Mode 98 Connecting to other equipment Printing the Pictures If you connect the camera to a printer supporting PictBridge you can select the pictures to be printed out and instruct that printing be started on the camera s LCD monitor Some printers can print directly from the card removed from the camera For details refer to the operating instructions of your printer Preparations Turn on the camera and the printer Remove the card before printing the pictures from the built in memory Check print quality and other settings on the printer before printing the pictures O USB connection cable supplied e Check the directions of the connectors and plug them straight in or unplug them straight out Otherwise the connectors may be bent out of shape which will cause a malfunction Align the marks and insert e Use a battery with sufficient battery power or the AC adaptor optional and DC coupler optional If the remaining battery power becomes low while the camera and the printer are connected the alarm beeps If this happens during printing stop printing at once If not printing

53. de menu settings refer to P20 Using these modes the pictures can be made sharper or softer the colours of the pictures can be turned into sepia colours or other colour effects can be achieved Applicable modes ole STANDARD This is the standard setting NATURAL The picture becomes softer VIVID The picture becomes sharper B W The picture becomes black and white SEPIA The picture becomes sepia COOL The picture becomes bluish WARM The picture becomes reddish Note e When you take pictures in dark places noise may become visible To avoid noise we recommend setting to NATURAL e You cannot set NATURAL VIVID COOL or WARM in Auto Scene Mode In Auto Scene Mode you can set this mode separately STABILIZER For details on REC Mode menu settings refer to P20 This gives an effect where the blurring associated with the motion of a camera or its subject is reduced Applicable modes AAK OFF ON The STABILIZER function is activated when all of the following conditions are met during the recording Flash is not activated Shutter speed is in the range of 1 4 to 1 60 ISO sensitivity is ISO800 or lower Self timer is not used Tripod is not used Note Not enough reduction may be achieved depending on the recording conditions or subject conditions e It is not activated during Burst recording It is not activated during motion picture recording
