1. Aircommand Australia Pty Ltd OSPREY OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS To operate for air circulation only 1 Turn Selector to Fan 2 Select fan speed Hi Med or Lo To operate in Cooling mode 1 Turn Selector to Cool 2 Select either Hi or Med fan speed 3 Initially set thermostat knob to MID range position The thermostat knob may be adjusted gradually to obtain optimum room conditions N B ALLOW 3 MINUTES BETWEEN TURNING THE AIRCONDITONER OFF AND TURNING BACK ON The Lo fan speed is generally only used for nighttime operation For maximum cooling capacity always use Hi fan speed To operate in Heating mode 1 Turn Selector to Heat 2 Turn fan speed to Heat also 3 Initially set thermostat knob to MID range position The thermostat knob may be adjusted gradually to obtain optimum room conditions N B ALLOW 3 MINUTES BETWEEN TURNING THE AIRCONDITI ONER OFF AND TURNING BACK ON Initially the fan will run at a very low speed As the discharge air warms up above approximately 45 C the fan speed will increase AUTOMATICALLY When the room reaches the temperature that the thermostat has been set to the compressor will stop and the discharge air temperature will fall The fan speed will automatically drop back to very low shortly after DE ICE CYCLE The De ice cycle is only associated with the heating mode and is used to prevent the accumulation of frost and ice on the ou2. e level CHECK a Thermostat setting could be too warm b Air filter not blocked c Windows and vents are closed curtain down and sunshades extended d Your caravan may be too large or deficient in insulation
3. tside heat exchanger which impairs the operation of the unit An automatic control sense the presence of frost and initiates the de ice cycle Here is what happens 1 All fans stop 2 A reversing valve is de energised which makes a chugg sh sound 3 The compressor may be heard to continue to run DO NOT BE ALARMED OR TURN OFF THE UNIT Allow the unit to run and in approximately 5 8 minutes the airconditioner will resume normal operation De icing will only occur when the outside temperature falls much below 3 C MAINTENANCE 1 Periodically clean the return air filter Simply remove the filter and wash in warm soapy water Dry and replace 2 We suggest that every year the main hold down bolts be checked for tightness and be taken up if they are at all slack TROUBLESHOOTING 1 Unit will not run on Heating or Cooling CHECK a Isolating switch or circuit breaker is on b Power is available at outside connection c Extension cord is in good order and firmly plugged in 2 Unit runs but will not Cool CHECK a Thermostat knob is turned to maximum ANTI CLOCKWISE position b Return air filter is clean c Fan is running on Hi d Turn unit off for 10 minutes and restart in case overload has tripped 3 Unit runs but will not Heat CHECK a Thermostat knob is turned to maximum CLOCKWISE position b Wait 10 minutes in case overload has tripped 4 Unit produces cool air but will not cool van to acceptabl
