DISC PRINTER LOADER SYSTEM Rev 1 05 TEAC D009854 00E 1 2 3 4 5 6 8 9 1 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Read these instructions Keep these instructions Heed all warnings Follow all instructions Do not use this apparatus near water Clean only with dry cloth Do not block any ventilation openings Install in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators heat registers stoves or other apparatus including amplifiers that produce heat Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet 10 Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the apparatus 11 Only use attachments accessories specified by the manufacturer 12 Use only with the cart stand tripod bracket or This appliance has a serial number located on the rear panel Please record the model number and serial number and retain them for your records Model number table specified by the manufacturer or sold with the apparatus When a cart i

ON switch on the front panel of the AP 55 as shown in Fig 6 on page 16 3 The AP 55 starts up while the loader goes through its initialization process The following warning message is displayed on the front panel until stackers are inserted into all the trays and the front door is closed Warning message shown when the front door is open The message shaded in the following image blinks the ERROR lamp comes on and the auto loader unit starts beeping Warning message shown when error occurs in a stacker tray The message shaded in the following image blinks the ERROR lamp comes on and the auto loader unit starts beeping i ting for Host locked Stacker When all necessary settings are completed the message shaded in the following image starts blinking to show that the AP 55 is waiting for a command to be sent from your computer The READY lamp on the front panel comes on while the ERROR lamp goes off and the auto loader unit stops beeping The regular startup procedure is complete 19 9 Loading Stackers into AP 55 9 1 1 Installing unprinted blank printed media stackers 1 Open the front door on the unit Install stackers for unprinted blank discs as follows For stacker normal mode Insert stackers with unprinted blank discs into the stacker trays BMS 0 and BMS 1 For stacker optional mode Insert stackers with unprinted blank discs into the stacker trays BMS 0 BMS 1

To connect the AP 55 to the P 55 units plug one end of a USB cable into 1 and the other end into 4 and plug one end of another USB cable into 2 and the other end into 5 as shown in Fig 3 above Note1 Note1 Make sure that you make a note of the serial numbers 5 printed on the nameplates of the P 55 units along the bottom edges when you install them in the AP 55 so that you can match the lower and upper printers with the AP 55 in the section 13 1 Matching AP 55 and P 55 for use of multiple units Be sure to connect a USB cable to each connector as shown in Fig 3 above or CAUTION as shown in the label attached near the connectors in the rear of the auto loader unit Failure to connect them properly may cause the unit to malfunction or result in damage to the unit 2 To connect the AP 55 to your computer plug one end of a USB cable into 3 and the other end into your computer as shown in Fig 3 above 14 8 Connecting amp Getting AP 55 Started 3 Set the main power switches 6 8 and 10 to the OFF position with O end pressed Then connect each power cable to 7 on the AP 55 and 9 and 11 on the P 55 units as shown in Fig 3 on page 14 and plug in the AP 55 the P 55 and the computer Note2 Note2 Open the side door on each printer and make sure that all shipping materials are removed For instruction details refer to the chapter Installing Removing Shipping Protection Materials in the

15. that best fits your case A If AP55 Multi exe has been running while AP55 exe has yet to run click Update to obtain the updated printer information Note that the AP55 Multi exe cannot recognize the printer where the error was fixed until you do so Then go back to the step 5 on page 28 and select the appropriate printer serial numbers again for each AP 55 unit as explained If AP55 exe has also been running you need to move on to and follow the instruction C below If you click Update while there are still some buttons for some AP 55 units that display Run instead of Running AP55 Multi exe clears the unit numbers assigned to such units and then assign them new numbers be aware that the same unit number is not necessarily assigned to the unit to which it was assigned last time B If a communication error was detected when more than one AP 55 unit was connected to your computer via more than one USB hub try connecting the AP 55 units to your computer using just one USB hub Then exit and restart AP55 Multi exe After that check whether the serial number of a printer that was displayed as None appears in the pull down menu now Closing the window AP55 Multi exe stops all the AP 55 units from operating and cancels all the jobs requested If you close the window by accident restart CAUTION all the units including the auto loader unit the printers and your computer Then follow the instructions in the section 13 1 Matching
