1. Quick Start Guide for the Wireless N VDSL Modem Router Model V1000H This Quick Start Guide will walk you through the easy steps to set up your Modem You will also need to know your DSL Username and Password provided by your Internet Service Provider Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Step 7 Step 8 Get the Modem and Power Cord from your Quick Start Kit Plug the smaller end of the Power Cord into the Black Port on the back of the Modem Plug the larger end of the Power Cord into a Power Outlet Make sure the Power Light on the Modem is SOLID Green Note The DSL Light may blink Get the Yellow Cable Plug one end of the Yellow Cable into any of the Yellow Ports on the back of the Modem Make sure that your computer is turned on Then plug the other end of the Yellow Cable into the Ethernet Port on the back of the computer An Ethernet Port looks similar to a regular Phone Jack but is slightly larger Make sure that 1 of the 4 Ethernet lights on the Modem is Green This may take a few moments Note If the Ethernet Light does NOT turn green make sure the Yellow Cable is properly connected on both ends Check the Type of WAN or Broadband connection installed It is either VDSL ADSL HPNA or Ethernet WAN Then follow the specific instructions for your type of WAN Broadband connection VDSL ADSL WAN Setup a Get a Green DSL Cable and connect one end of the DSL Cable into a Phone Jack closes to t2. address bar enter http 192 168 0 1 then press Enter on the keyboard Note When you open your web browser you may get a Page cannot be displayed error This is normal and will not effect the instructions in Step 10 The Main Menu screen appears Select Auto Configure Your Modem Note If this screen does not appear make sure that your Ethernet port is configured for Dynamic IP If you are using HPNA as your WAN connection you ll need to set that up manually The Welcome screen appears Click Next The Modem is now detecting your Internet provider s settings This process can take up to 3 minutes In the next window enter the User Name and Password provided by the ISP Click Next Hint Your user name may be your main e mail address Click the YES button Select a name for your wireless network and enter it in the ESSID field Then click NEXT to continue It is recommended that you secure your wireless network by clicking Yes If you choose not to secure your network click No and you will have completed the installation Select the type of wireless security that you want to use Actiontec recommends using WPA amp WPA2 The following steps will show you how to enable WPA amp WPA2 wireless security Note All of your other wireless devices will need to support the SAME type of wireless security selected Otherwise they will not be able to connect to the Wireless Modem Enter in a password or pre shared
3. he modem Plug the other end into the Green Port on the back of the modem b Make sure that the DSL light is either solid or flashing Green Note If the DSL light does NOT turn green make sure the DSL Cable is properly connected on both ends HPNA WAN Setup C Get a Coax Cable and connect one end of the Coax Cable into the Coax Port located on the wall Plug the other end into the HPNA Coax Connector on the back of the modem d Make sure that the HPNA light is either solid or flashing Green Note If the HPNA light does NOT turn green make sure the Coax Cable is properly connected on both ends Ethernet WAN Setup a Get an Ethernet Cable and connect one end of the Ethernet Cable into the Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 Step 12 Step 13 Step 14 Step 15 Step 16 Step 17 Step 18 Step 19 Step 20 Ethernet Port located on the wall Plug the other end into the White Ethernet Port on the back of the Modem b Make sure that the WAN Ethernet light is either solid or flashing Green Note If the WAN Ethernet light does NOT turn green make sure the Ethernet Cable is properly connected on both ends Upon completing the setup instructions in Step 8 make sure the Internet light turns Green within 3 minutes If the Internet light remains amber for more than 3 minutes call your Internet Service Provider s Customer Service Department Open a Web browser Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer for example In the
