Bubble Tube User Guide This guide has been written to help you get the most from your bubble tube Please ensure that you read this fully as it contains important information on filling emptying and maintaining your tube Failure to follow this advice may result in damage to the tube and invalidate your warranty Keep this guide in a safe place for future reference Contents Unpacking Setting up Emptying amp cleaning Deep cleaning Potential risks amp warnings Contact details Unpacking Bubble tubes are shipped in specialist packaging designed to protect the tube from damage during transport Ensure that the packaging is carefully removed from around the tube Keep the packaging in case the tube needs to be returned Take care not to lift by the tube as this can cause damage Always lift from the base The power supply for the tube is stored in the top cardboard packing piece If you find any damage when you unpack you should report it within 7 days to your supplier If your tube is supplied with BCB Treatment Fluid it will be packed in a protective bag Please open this with caution to ensure that any fluid that has leaked does not come into contact with skin Do not remove the protective film from the tube until the unit has been filled with water and is running to your satisfaction The tube may have some water residue in it when unpacked This is normal and is a result of the testing procedure at the
2. factory Rinse the tube before first use to remove any dust or dirt from the packaging materials Page 3 Page 4 Setting up Ensure that the power supply is sited at an adequate distance from the tube and that there is no tension in the power cable The cable should never be coiled around the power supply as this may cause it to overheat Switch on the bubble tube before adding any water This is to ensure that water does not enter the airline as it is being filled Take care when filling emptying the tube to ensure that water does not come into contact with the base or the power supply Start to fill the tube with water using a suitable container or hosepipe After filling about 10cm stop and check for bubbles and light before proceeding further If everything is working correctly continue to fill the tube finishing about 10cm from the top In the unlikely event of the tube not working fully please contact your supplier In hard water areas we recommend the use of distilled deionised water in bubble tubes Use of BCB Fluid in the tube is essential to prevent bacteriological infections slime and green algae forming Contact your supplier if BCB Fluid is not included with the tube The bubble tube will require topping up with water from time to time This is due to natural evaporation the speed of which will vary depending on ambient temperatures Change the water in the bubble tube at least every 8 10 weeks You ma
3. overnight but not longer than 24 hours Drain the tube and then rinse thoroughly using about 10cm of water Swill the water around trying to cover as much of the tube as possible Remember to lift the tube from the base and take care not to bang into anything Repeat a couple of times to ensure the tube is clean After cleaning check the air ring for any remaining dirt or black marks Repeat the cleaning process if required The more severe the dirt in the tube and around the air ring the more sterilising fluid will be required It may be necessary to begin with a more intense clean by using a full 500ml bottle in the tube topped up with water When complete fill the tube with water as normal and add BCB Fluid Regularly changing the water in your tube will help to significantly Page 6 prolong its life Potential risks amp warnings Read and understand all these instructions before using the bubble tube Do not operate the tube with a damaged power cord or if the unit has been dropped or damaged Position the power cord so that it will not be tripped over pulled or come into contact with hot surfaces If an extension lead is necessary a cable with a current rating at least equal to that of the tube 3 5A should be used Always unplug the tube from the power socket before cleaning servicing and when not in use Never yank the cord to pull the plug from the outlet Grasp the plug and pull to disconnect Alway

5. y need to change it sooner if it is situated near a window as sunlight rapidly soeeds the growth of bacteria Emptying amp cleaning If you notice the bubbles in your tube becoming weaker you should change the water immediately as this is a sign of the air holes becoming blocked Disconnect the bubble tube from the mains Make sure you have a bucket or suitable container to hold the water that will be emptied A bubble tube will hold approximately 15 litres of water per metre Use a siphon tube or pump to empty all the water from the tube If the tube is fitted with a drain valve put the outlet pipe into a container and then open the valve Ensure the valve is closed before refilling the tube The inside of the tube should not be cleaned with bleach or any other harsh cleaning fluid as this will cloud the plastic The exterior of the tube can be cleaned with a spray polish and a soft cloth Rinse with water to remove any dirt and refill with clean water remembering to add BCB Fluid Page 5 Deep cleaning If the tube has been in use for a while then there may be a build up of dirt and bacterial growth around the air ring This can block the air holes and if not cleaned can lead to the tube requiring a replacement air ring Fill the tube to a depth of 5cm using non diluted sterilising fluid such as Milton This will begin to remove the dirt immediately and should be left for several hours to clear the tube preferably
