3.  a reasonable level   The Serpentine Neck       Nessie s serpentine neck allows for a wide range of adjustments for various forms of recording  For desktop vocals  try angling the microphone up  and out from its tucked in  set position  For optimum vocal clarity  speak or sing directly towards the Blue logo on the front of the microphone  at a  distance of around 12 inches  Or  for recording an acoustic guitar while seated  you can try angling Nessie down toward the guitar s sound hole  Feel free   to experiment with Nessie   s flexibility to achieve your ideal sound     OS Setup    Nessie is designed for driverless operation with on both PC and Mac  Here are specific instructions for setup with your operating system     Windows 8  Windows 7  and Windows Vista    1  Plug the microphone into the USB port on your computer using the provided USB cable   2  From the Start menu  select the Control Panel     3  From the Control Panel  select the Sound icon    4  Select the Recording tab  Select Nessie USB Microphone    5  Select the Playback tab  Select Nessie USB Microphone from the list  From this screen  you will also want to adjust the computer s master  volume  As a starting point  set the computer s master volume to 100   Once you ve selected Nessie USB Microphone as your output device   you can control headphone volume with large knob base of Nessie     Please note  Your computer will recognize Nessie as both an input and an output device  and so your computer s audio output
