Troubleshooting Flowchart TW Sensor ee ee 3 C Self diagnosis LED indicator blinks six times Most likely a problem in the Coolant Temperature TW Sensor circuit Pa 1 Mi a Pa 1 We Check Engine warning light is on LED indicates CODE 6 Turn the ignition switch OFF ail Remove HAZARD fuse in the main fuse box for 10 seconds to reset ECU Turn the ignition switch ON Is Check Engine warning light on Does LED indicate CODE 6 co m intermittent failure test drive may be neces sary RED WHT Warm up engine to normal oper ating temperature cooling fan comes on r Disconnect C210 and C151 connectors Measure resistance between RED WHT terminal and GRN WHT terminal at C151 con nector C151 CONNECTOR Inspect for open or short in RED WHT or GRN WHT wire between C151 connector and TW sensor If wires are OK replace TW sensor Is there 200 400 Q To page 6 43 6 42 RED WHT ey gt From page 6 42 l 3 O Q Reconnect C210 and 151 con nectors then disconnect the 2P connector from TW sensor lt Is there approx 5V oN a Turn the ignition switch OFF YES Connect the PGM FI test harness between the ECU and connector page 6 19 Measure voltage between RED I WHT terminal and GRN WHT termina2. l Turn the ignition switch ON Le Repair open in GRN NO WHT wire between Is there approx 5V ECU C12 and TW sensor ihe Substitute a known good Measure voltage between C6 ECU and recheck If symptom terminal and C12 termi indication goes away replace nal the originaf ECU nE ODOOCOOOOCOO Goo 0ocd000cd Fooc00000 OCOOCOOOCOO Oc coooc 0000 Fo0g00G00 C6 C12 5v Repair open in RED WHT wire between ECU C6 and TW sensor x Is there approx 5V NO Disconnect C connector from the main wire harness only not the ECU aaa Measure voltage between C6 terminal and C12 termi nal Repair short in RED WHT wire between ECU C6 and TW sensor I is there approx 5V no Substitute a known good ECU and recheck If pre scribed voltage is now avail able replace the original ECU 6 43
