1. Congratulations on your new Aurora Design BT 1 Bluetooth adapter Combined with an FMR 1 converted radio you can enjoy 21 century technology in your classic vehicle Setup Before installing your radio back into your vehicle you may wish to plug the supplied illuminated pushbutton and the hands free microphone into the appropriate jacks on the radio both are optional The microphone is only required if you want to support hands free calls If not the microphone does not need to be connected When not connected the BT 1 will not broadcast that it supports hands free operation and your phone will operate as normal The pushbutton requires a 1 2 12 7mm hole and should be mounted somewhere convenient such as the bottom edge of the dashboard The pushbutton is illuminated with a status LED that should be made visible for easiest operation The attached cable is 3 3 1M long and can be routed as required Excess cable can be coiled and tied off The optional microphone can be placed in a convenient location in the vehicle typically along the bottom edge of the dashboard or along the front edge of the headliner near the rear view mirror The attached cable is 9 8 3M long and can be routed as required typically behind the A pillar cover for headliner mounting Excess cable can be coiled and tied off Operation Operation of the BT 1 is extremely easy After powering the radio on the status LED on the pushbutton will blink o

4. nce to show it is now operational Pairing When nothing is connected to the BT 1 press the pushbutton once to put the BT 1 into pairing mode The status LED will now be blinking The BT 1 will stay in pairing mode until a device is connected or two minutes has expired This is done for security since leaving the module in pairing mode at all times could result in unintended people gaining control of the module The BT 1 will display as Aurora Design BT 1 in the Bluetooth section of your device Select the BT 1 to connect The status LED will go to steady on to signify the device is connected While up to eight devices can be paired to the BT 1 only one device can be connected and controlling the BT 1 at a time Selecting the BT 1 Once a Bluetooth device is paired and connected follow the manufacturers instructions on selecting the BT 1 as the audio device When you start streaming music or a call comes in the BT 1 will automatically mute the FMR 1 and go to the Bluetooth mode The optional status LED on the FMR 1 will change to orange to signify that Bluetooth is active When you stop streaming music or end a call the BT 1 will put the FMR 1 back into normal operation The Bluetooth device can be controlled using its controls or by using the BT 1 pushbutton as follows Audio Streaming Press the button once to skip to the next song Press it twice to skip to the previous song Hold the button to toggle between play and pause Hand
5. s free Call Press the button once to accept an incoming call Press it twice to reject or end a call Hold the button to toggle the mute The status LED will blink once each time one of these actions is performed to signify it has been accepted The status LED will blink slowly when the device is muted during a call The BT 1 will automatically try to reconnect to the last connected device if the device comes within range while the radio is powered on If the pushbutton status LED function is not required or desired it may be omitted In this case the BT 1 will operate as outline above with the following differences Pushbutton not attached The BT 1 will automatically enter the pairing mode each time the radio is turned on for 2 minutes or until a device is connected No control of the connected device will be possible through the BT 1 All control of the connected device play pause next previous accept reject will be done through the controls on the connected device If it ever becomes necessary to reset the BT 1 to factory defaults or you just want to clear the pairing table hold the button down for about 15 seconds until the status LED starts blinking and then release This will reset all internal data including the pairing table Due to differences in Bluetooth devices and their operating systems the BT 1 may not operate with all Bluetooth devices Troubleshooting Poor Range Make sure nothing is obstructing the dial face of th
