D VINE ei EVENTS COM BALLOON HELIUM GAS SAFETY AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS BE SAFE RATHER THAN SORRY Thank you for hiring a helium gas cylinder We hope your event goes well However please remember to read and adhere to the following safety instructions before using your helium gas cylinder Helium is a colourless odourless non flammable and non poisonous gas which is lighter than air and this is why balloons float Despite this you should never deliberately inhale the gas as this can induce asphyxia also Known as suffocation Do not breathe helium gas directly from the cylinder or from balloons Cylinders should always be kept in an upright position and secured to prevent toppling This is especially important during transportation Keep the cylinder out of the way so it reduces the chance of anybody tripping or children playing with the gas Do not smoke around the cylinder Fire hazards should be avoided However in the event of a fire vacate the area immediately and call the Fire Brigade informing them that the cylinder contains Helium Gas Helium is stored at high pressure The cylinder should never be opened without the appropriate filling kit valve being securely attached first You must always remove the filling kit valve if moving the cylinder any distance or ceasing to use it Remember to turn off the cylinder valve and release pressure in the filling kit valve before removing it Always follow any further ins2. tructions given by staff at the time of sale or pickup of your helium gas cylinder lf you have any questions regarding the above information please do not hesitate to ask
