5. down and remove the three screws marked in the illustration from the printer housing Pull the bottom part of the housing upwardsto remove it as shown in the illustration Hold the motherboard by the back panel and pull it up Then tum it over and place it on the print mechanism face down To remove the motherboard back panel unscrew the earthing screw and the back panel fastening screw Secure the RS232 bracket supplied with the printer on the motherboard using the fastening screw and the earthing screw Plug one end of the connection cable into the module EZ1105 EZ1305 User Manual 16 Remove the two hex crewsonthe left and nght of the RS 232 module serial port Push the RS232 module through the opening of the RS232 bracket supplied Secure the RS 232 module using the hex screws you removed earlier Now plug the otherend of the connection cable into the motherboard socket Retum the motherboard to its original position before the installation Please make sure that the screw holes are not covered by cablesorthe motherboard Replace the bottom part of the printer housing as shown in the illustration Secure the printer housing using the three screws you removed earlier EZ1105 EZ1305 User Manual 17 4 2 Installing the Ethemet module motherboard 4 Motherboard backpanel 6 Hexspacer female Hex spacer male Caution 7 Please make sure that you take precautionst
6. using the three screws you removed earlier Note 7 Once you have finished installing the Ethemet module the command XSET USBETHERNET 1 must be sent to the pnnterto enable the Ethemet module While the Ethemet module is enabled the USB port is disabled To enable it again send the command XSET USBETHERNET O to the printer EZ1105 EZ1305 User Manual 20 5 Maintenance and adjustment 5 1 Cleaning the printhead Dust or dirt on the print head may result in inadequate print quality The printer cover should therefore alwaysbe closed during printing Please also make sure that there is no dust ordirt on the print medium you wish to use to ensure a good print quality and print head performance Here is how you clean the print head l Switch off the printer 2 Openthe printer cover 3 Release the print mechanism and lift it Remove the ribbon To remove any label residue or other dirt from the print head see blue amow please use a soft lint free cloth dipped in alcohol Note 17 The print head should be cleaned once a week Note 27 Please make sure that there are no metal fragments orother ha rd particles on the soft cloth used to clean the print head 5 2 Adjusting the print head pressure If you use a variety of label stocksor ribbon types the print quality may suffer You will then need to adjust the print head pressure Ti NE DES Open the printer cover Remove the ribbon Us
