Getting Started To maintain the integrity of your deck structure during construction begin removing boards from the outside away from the building and work towards the building Only remove 4 to 6 boards at a time and replace them with new decking This will ensure you maintain the square spacing of the frame You have two techniques for removing inline boards th C Removing Decking p Decking Pull Nails Slide the Deck Demon under the decking and pry Boards While up For wide decking that l i p a Du EN you want to remove un p Str noe damaged pry up one side lili slowly and then slide the Deck Demon further under the board and pry up the other fasteners C amp D Pull Nails From a standing position wedge the catspaw around the fastener head and either p roll the Deck Demon back and pull the nail or pry the nail out by pulling Se the Deck Demon to the side lt as shown in photo E New Deck Boards When replacing the deck boards first install a skirt board so the new decking will extend 3 4 of an inch off the frame This will greatly decrease the chance that new fasteners will fall into existing holes from previous fasteners Always wear proper eye hand and foot protection Be sure to work from a safe and stable position EDITOR S CHOICE AWARD Popular OWS S 7 12540 Angel GUARD Products Inc Worcester MA 01603 angelguardproducts com Mecha2. nics The Deck Demon 40021 8 Patented
