1. How to Clean Your SPECIAL FINISH Showerhead In order to keep your Speakman showerhead looking and performing the best it can you may find that a periodic cleaning is necessary depending on the type of water your home has Cleaning your showerhead is easy and you will not need to use any harsh and or abrasive cleaners You ll need Mild Soap Warm Water Measuring cup or small bucket A strong 1 Quart Plastic Food Bag Tape Electrical tape Adhesive tape duct tape masking tape or cellophane tape An old used disposable toothbrush First start by making sure the shower valve is turned off and there is no leaking from the showerhead Fill your measuring cup or small bucket with the warm water and add some mild soap stir Pour the mixture into your 1 Quart Plastic Food Bag Place the bag over the showerhead so that the showerhead face and as much as possible of the body of the showerhead is immersed in the solution Wrap tape around the bag squeezing it around the inlet pipe for the showerhead using enough wraps of tape to hold the bag securely in place and the showerhead immersed in the solution BE SURE the tape holds the bag securely fastened in position If in doubt Use more tape As an alternative to using the plastic bag you may unscrew the showerhead from its arm and place the showerhead face down in the solution in the measuring cup or small bucket See How to Change a Showerhead video for help removing your s2. howerhead Let the showerhead stay immersed in the solution overnight or at least for a few hours In the morning remove the bag from the showerhead Before turning on the water take the toothbrush and brush any remaining mineral deposits from the showerhead Turn on the water and wait for about 1 minute before entering the shower to allow any solution remaining in the showerhead to be expelled
