9. blades H loosening and possibly A falling To install the blade to the blade arm Hold the blade H with hands close to the blade arm I align the key slot holes VV with the blade arm posts WW and press the blade down firmly Ensure the key slot holes VV are properly seated on the blade arm posts WW until the blade H engages in the spring locking mechanism XX Make sure the spring of the spring locking mechanism XX is upward and the butt of the spring locking mechanism XX is against the edge of the blade To detach the blade from the blade arm Firmly slide the blade away from the blade arm I Press down the spring locking mechanism XX to release the blade H from the blade arm I Slide the blade H toward the blade arm 1 until the blade disengages from the spring locking mechanism XX and carefully push the blade H up to detach from the blade arm l 14 Assembly Attaching the Fan Blades 1 Fastening the blade assemblies to the motor WARNING To reduce the risk of personal injury do not bend the blade arms I while installing balancing the blades H or cleaning the fan Do no insert foreign objects between rotating fan blades H Fasten the blade assemblies to the fan motor assembly G by lining up the slots YY of the moto

11. canopy C and loosen the slotted mounting bracket screws BB on the canopy C Take out the setscrew EE located in the hanger ball SS lower the hanger ball and remove the cross pin FF Remove the hanger ball SS from the the hanger ball downrod assembly E Remove the canopy C from the mounting bracket A by turning the canopy C counterclockwise FF iss SS EE o 3 Assembling the fan WARNING Failure to properly install the cotter pin DD could result in the fan loosening and possibly falling NOTE If a longer downrod not included is needed take out the screw located in the hanger ball SS lower the hanger ball SS and remove the pin FF Remove all three pieces from the downrod and assemble them onto the new longer downrod before proceeding to the downrod installa tion Carefully feed the motor wires up through the downrod TT Thread the downrod TT into the collar Align the holes and replace the cotter pin DD and clevis pin CC Tighten the two collar setscrews GG Slip the coupling cover F canopy ring B and canopy C onto the downrod TT Carefully reinstall the hanger ball SS onto the downrod TT being sure that the cross pin FF is in the correct position the setscrew EE is tightened and the wires are not twisted 9 HOMEDEPOT COM HOMEDECORATORS Please contact 1 800 986 3460 for further a

13. e when installing on a steep sloped ceiling The maximum angle allowable is 18 away from horizontal If the canopy C touches the hanger ball downrod assembly E then remove the decorative canopy bottom cover D and turn the canopy C 180 before attaching the canopy C to the mounting bracket A If your ceiling fan does not have an existing UL listed mounting box then install one using the following instructions Disconnect the power by removing the fuses or turning off the circuit breakers Secure the outlet box QQ not included directly to the building structure Use appropriate fasteners and materials not included The outlet box and its bracing must be able to fully support the weight of the moving fan at least 35 Ibs Do not use a plastic outlet box The illustrations below show three different ways to mount the outlet box QQ not included QQ RR a bs QQ To hang your fan where there is an existing fixture but no ceiling joist you may need an installation hanger bar RR not included as shown above Assembly Standard Ceiling Mounting 1 Preparing the canopy 2 Preparing the motor Remove the canopy ring B from the canopy C Remove the clevis pin CC and cotter pin DD and loosen the two collar setscrews GG from the motor Remove the two non slotted mounting bracket screws collar BB from the
14. g installation using the downrod with ball and socket mounting and the close to ceiling mounting The close to ceiling mounting is recommended in rooms with less than 8 ft ceilings or in areas where additional space is desired from the floor to the fan blades When using the standard downrod installation the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan blades will be approximately 12 in The close to ceiling installation reduces the distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan blades to approximately 9 in Once you have decided which ceiling installation you will use refer to the corresponding sections and procedures during the assembly period Where necessary each section of the instructions will note the different procedures to follow for the two types of installation Standard Ceiling Mounting Close to Ceiling Mounting HOMEDEPOT COM HOMEDECORATORS Please contact 1 800 986 3460 for further assistance Installation MOUNTING OPTIONS WARNING To reduce the risk of fire electric shock or personal injury mount the fan to an outlet box marked acceptable for fan support using the screws provided with the outlet box An outlet box commonly used for the support of lighting fixtures may not be acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced If in doubt consult a qualified electrician NOTE You may need a longer downrod to maintain proper blade clearanc

16. peration PULL CHAIN OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Install two pull chains and fobs PP onto the pull chains located in the switch housing J Turn on the power and check the operation of the fan The pull chain controls the fan speed as follows 1 pull High 2 pulls Medium 3 pulls Low and 4 pulls Off Speed settings for warm or cool weather depend on factors such as the room size ceiling height and number of fans The light pull chain controls the light kit ON and OFF REVERSE SWITCH OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS The reverse switch is located on the surface of the switch housing Slide the switch to the left for warm weather operation Slide the switch to the right for cool weather operation NOTE Wait for the fan to stop before reversing the direction of the blade rotation Warm weather Counterclockwise Direction A downward air flow creates a cooling effect This allows you to set your air conditioner on a warmer setting without affecting your comfort Cool weather Clockwise Direction An upward air flow moves warm air off the ceiling This allows you to set your heating unit on a cooler setting without affecting your comfort 18 Care and Cleaning tarnishing blades shoe polish Do Do not Check the support connections brackets and blade Use water when cleaning Water could damage the motor attachments twice a year Ma

18. ssistance Assembly Close to Ceiling Mounting 1 3 Preparing the canopy Remove the canopy ring B from the canopy C Remove the mounting bracket A from the canopy C by loosening the four canopy mounting bracket screws BB on the top of the canopy C Remove the two non slotted canopy mounting bracket screws BB and loosen the slotted canopy mounting bracket screws BB Remove the canopy bottom cover D from the canopy C Assembling the fan AN WARNING Failure to completely tighten the three collar mounting screws HH could result in the fan becoming loose and possibly falling Make sure the slot openings of the canopy ring B are on top and then proceed to place the canopy ring B and canopy C over the collar at the top of the fan motor assembly G Align the mounting holes in the bottom of the canopy C with the holes in the top of the fan motor assem bly G Fasten using the three collar mounting screws with lock washers HH previously removed Tighten the collar mounting screws HH securely Preparing the motor Remove three of the six collar mounting screws with lock washers HH every other one from the collar on top of the fan motor assembly G Assembly Hanging the Fan AN Attaching the fan to the electrical box WARNING To reduce the risk of fire electri
