1. the diffuser must be set in Position 1 A charcoal filter is not required when ducting The ducting used must be 100mm 4 diameter and where flexible ducting is fitted it should not be turned through very tight bends as this may impair the performance of the hood Fitting The Decor Panel To fit the decor panel on to the hood will require the removal of the complete visor assembly from the hood To remove the visor pull open the visor into the operating position press downwards on the visor release catch located on the left hand side of the casing behind the visor to allow the visor to be removed The dimensions of the decor panel to be fitted should be 59 6cm 23 1 2 wide by 45cm 17 3 4 high minimum Use the paper template provided to mark the holes on the reverse side of the decor panel for fixing the screws Ensure that the template is aligned with the top edge of the decor panel Should a decor panel with a measurement greater than 45cm 17 3 4 in height be fitted failure to align the top edge of the template with the top edge of the decor panel will prevent the visor opening when installed Measure before drilling to check that the distances of the holes as stated on the template are correct as the template could have altered due to exposure to dampness after manufacture INSTALLATION cont To refit the visor relocate the guides at the top of the visor into the tracks at the top front corners in the h

3. d mountings Use the paper template provided on the wall for bracket fixing screws Check the distances of the holes are correct with a measure as stated on the template At this stage it is important to allow 15mm 1 2 clear space above the hood to enable it to be hooked onto the brackets and for any subsequent removal for cleaning or servicing When drilling the holes for the wall fixing screws care must be taken to ensure that they are quite level as there is only minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing brackets The brackets should be fixed with the round end at the bottom Once the brackets are secured the hood can be hooked on Access to the wall levelling screws is from above the hood These are located in the two extension arms at either side of the hood which fit over the wall brackets to support the hood Turn these screws until the hood is positioned at right angles to the wall cabinet carcase then fit four screws through the plastic counter sunk plugs into the adjoining wall cabinet side panels to fully secure the hood The hood should be secured to the adjoining cabinets at each side of the hood using the 4 x 12mm 1 2 round headed screws provided The screws holes are located at each side of the casing behind the grille at the bottom of the guide Adjust the lower spacer panel at the rear of the hood to lose off the gap Ducting Fitting If the hood is to be ducted to the outside the selector on
4. dequate supply of air to the room ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS WARNING THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED This hood should be connected via a suitable double pole switch or by a 13Amp BS 1363 plug to the supply within 1 metre 39 3 8 IMPORTANT The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code GREEN AND YELLOW EARTH BLUE NEUTRAL BROWN LIVE As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this cooker hood may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows The wire which is coloured Green and yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter lt E gt or by the symbol or coloured Green or Green yellow The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter lt N gt or coloured black The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter lt L gt or coloured red If a 13Amp BS 1363 plug is used fit a 3Amp fuse If any other type of plug is used by a 5Amp fuse in the plug or adaptor or at the distribution board INSTALLATION Wall Fitting The hood may be fixed to any rigid vertical surface If it is necessary to fix the unit to a hollow construction plaster or partition board structure then it must be sufficientlyreinforced to be quite rigid in the area of the hoo

6. e diffuser behind the air inlet grille To open the grille press inwards on the two slide catch fastners located in either side of the lighting diffuser The grille can be lowered into an intermediate position and can be removed by moving the grille through a 45 degree angle away from the hood The inlet grille can be removed while the door panel is in the operating position The charcoal filters should be located onto the mounting in the centre of the fan cover In the recycling mode air passes through the grease filter and charcoal and out through the ducts located in the casing above the decor panel In the ducting mode air passes through the grease filter and out through the ducting into the atmosphere To obtain the best performance it is advisable to switch on the hood a few minutes before commencing cooking and leave it running for approximately 15 minutes are finishing Worktop Illumination If the lamps fail to function at any time first check they are fully screwed into the holders When changing the lamp an identical replacement must be fitted to ensure safe working of the hood Replacement lamps are tulip shaped clear glass 240V 40W small Edison E14 screw thread MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING Regular maintenance and cleaning will ensure good performance and reliability while extending the working life of the hood Special attention should be taken to keep the grease filter clean at all times and the charcoal
7. filter recirculation model should be replaced regularly WARNING Disconnect from the mains before service and while cleaning or changing filters CHARCOAL FILTER The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned It should be replaced at least six months or more frequently if the hood is used consistently FOAM GREASE FILTER The foam grease filter mat should be cleaned once a month with normal usage It may be washed in hot water and mild detergent or liquid soap and should be squeezed dry and not wrung out Repiace after six months WARNING It is a possible fire hazard if the filters are not cleaned and replaced as recommended Replacement charcoal filters can be obtained from your local Zanussi Network Service Centre whose details can be found under Z in your telephone directory CLEANING The metal work should be cleaned regularly at least once a month using mild household cleaners and polish IMPORTANT The electrical supply is provided with earthing in compliance with international safety regulations The electric supply conforms to EEC Directives on radio interfczence IMPORTANT Never leave frying pans unattended during use as overheated fats and oils may catch fire Never do flame cooking under a hood The cookerhood ducting extraction version must never be connected to central heating flues radiators or water heaters etc Before connection to the mains supply ensure that the mains voltage c

9. ood casing Lower the bottom edge of the visor until the lower guides align with the lower tracks push in the visor until an audible click is heard The visor may now be opened and closed in its normal function IMPORTANT Should the decor panel not be fitted as advised it could affect the opening of the facia panel HOW TO USE Operating Instructions The cooker hood functions are controlled by three slide switches an automatic microswitch and selector slide lever The three slide switches which are located on the right hand side beneath the facia panel control fan speed and work surface illumination The switch marks with the fan symbol and the 0 1 controls the power supply to the fan This should be used in conjunction with the switch marked 1 2 3 which controls the fan speed Position 1 should be selected when simmering or when using only one pan Position 2 should be selected for normal cooking up to four pans Position 3 should be selected when frying or cooking foods with strong odours The switch marked with the symbol x and 0 1 controls the power to the worktop illumination The concealed microswitch acts as an overide and will switch the hood off whatever selection is made with the slider switches when the facia panel is closed When the panel is pulled open the hood will resume working at its previous setting The changeover slide lever for selecting recycling or exhaust mode is situated on th
