1. DEFROST WATER PAN Keep your refrigerator and freezer clean to prevent odor build up Wipe up any spills immediately and clean both sections at least twice a year Never use metallic scouring pads brushes abrasive cleaners or strong alkaline solutions on any surface Do not wash any removable parts in a dishwasher Always unplug the power cord from the wall outlet before cleaning Turning the control to OFF does not disconnect power to the controls light bulb or other electrical components Inside Wash inside surfaces of the refrigerator and freezer with a solution of 2 tablespoons baking soda in 1 quart warm water Rinse and dry thoroughly Be sure to wring excess water out of sponge or cloth before cleaning around the controls light bulb or any electrical parts Wash removable parts such as shelves and drawers with baking soda solution or mild detergent and warm water Do not use harsh cleaners on these surfaces Rinse and drythoroughly Clean the door gaskets w ith mild suds rinse with clear water and wipe dry Do not use razor blades or other sharp instruments w hich can scratch the appliance surface when removing adhesive labels Any glue left from the tape or energy label can be removed with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent or touch the residue with the sticky side of tape already removed Do not remove the serial plate Outside Wash the cabinet and handles with warm water and mild liquid detergent

E SeSe Refrigerator Toe Grille Assembly Instructions NOTE If your refrigerator has the type of Mounting Clips shown in Figure 1B below use this procedure NOTE If your refrigerator has the type of Mounting Clips shown in Figure 2 below use this procedure Tools Required None To Attach the Toe Grille to the Mounting Clips e With the end of the Toe Grille against the side of the Lower Hinge align the two 2 Assembly Slots with the two 2 Mounting Clips Snap the Toe Grille onto the Mounting Clips See Figures 1A and 1B NOTE A properly mounted Toe Grille should have its edge against the Lower Hinge and the back of the Toe Grille tight against the refrigerator base To Remove the Toe Grille e Carefully tilt the bottom edge of the Toe Grille away from the refrigerator base e Pull the Toe Grille toward you until it unsnaps from the Mounting Clips See Figure 2 For Cleaning Hand wash in Warm Soapy Water The Toe Grille and Mounting Clips are NOT dishwasher safe Placing them in the dishwasher will in a warped and unusable Grille result Mounting Clip Toe Grille Narrow Edge Up NOTE Right Hand Door Swing Shown Figure 1A Figure 2 Tools Required None To Attach the Toe Grille e Open the refrigerator door e Line up the Toe Grille Assembly over the two large holes on the front of the refrigerator base

Fill Tube Water Valve Bracket Include enough tubing in loop to allow moving refrigerator out for cleaning Water Valve It takes approximately 24 hours for the ice maker to begin producing ice Air in new plumbing lines may cause ice maker to cycle two or three times before making a full tray of ice New plumbing may cause ice to be discolored or have poor flavor Discard ice made during the first 24 hours Energy Saving Ideas e Locate the refrigerator in the coolest part of the room out of direct sunlight and away from heating ducts or registers Do not place the refrigerator next to heat producing appliances such as a range oven or dishwasher If this is not possible a section of cabinetry or an added layer of insulation between the two appliances will help the refrigerator operate more efficiently e Level the refrigerator so the doors close tightly e Refer to this Owner s Guide for the suggested refrigerator settings e Periodic cleaning of the condenser will help the refrigerator run more efficiently See Outside in the Care and Cleaning section e Do not overcrowd the refrigerator or block cold air vents Doing so causes the refrigerator to run longer and use more energy Shelves should not be lined with aluminum foil wax paper or paper toweling Liners interfere with cold air circulation making the refrigerator less efficient which could cause food spoilage e Cover foods and wipe con

5. refrigerator lift the back of the shelf up and out Replace shelf by inserting hooks at rear into slots Lower and lock into position To adjust combination cantilever sliding shelves remove shelf by lifting hook out of rear slot and sliding shelf forward to the stop position Liftup front edge and pullout Replace shelf bysliding shelf back on supports and inserting the hook into the respective middle Remove slot Shipping Clips Door Storage Door racks allow convenient storage of jars bottles and cans Items used often are available for quick selection Some models have door racksw hich can accommodate gallon size plastic drink containers and economy size jars and containers which are available today Some racks are removable and adjustable for maximum efficiency NOTE When storing gallon sized itemson the lower door racks do not position the meat pan in its lowest possible position The meat pan handle or shelving may interfere with door closing The Dairy compartment is warmer than the general food storage section and is intended for short term storage of cheese spreads or butter Crispers The Crispers located under the bottom refrigerator shelf are designed for storing fruits vegetables and other fresh produce Wash items in clear water and remove excess water before placing in the Crispers Items with strong odorsorhigh moisture should be wrapped before storing The Humidity Control some models allows

See Figure 1 e Push the Toe Grille Assembly into the holes until the grille snaps in place See Figure 1 NOTE some models If your refrigerator has a left hand door swing the Toe Grille Buttons must be positioned on the left side of the keyhole slots See Figure 2 NOTE Both Toe Grille Buttons must be mounted on the same side of the two keyhole slots NOTE The Toe Grille should be flush with the side of the refrigerator and not interfere with the Lower Hinge To Remove the Toe Grille e Grasp the Toe Grille on each side and pull directly outward e The grille assembly will pop out of the holes for easy cleaning For Cleaning Hand wash in Warm Soapy Water am Lower Hinge Toe Grille Assembly Narrow Edge Up Figure 1 Toe Grille Button Figure 2 13 NS ee Avoid Service Checklist OCCURRENCE RUNNING OF REFRIGERATOR Refrigerator compressor does not run Refrigerator runs too much or too long Refrigerator compressor goes on and off frequently TEMPERATURES ARE TOO COLD Temperature in the freezer is too cold and the refrigerator temperature is satisfactory Temperature in the refrigerator is too cold and the freezer temperature is satisfactory Food stored in drawers freezes Food stored in Meat Keeper some models freezes TEMPERATURES ARE TOO WARM Temperature in the freezer or refrigerator is too warm Before calling

Turning the refrigerator control will change the temperature in BOTH compartments If the refrigerator control is turned to OFF cooling stops in both compartments e Turning the freezer control will change only the temperature in the freezer compartment To maintain temperatures a fan circulates air in the refrigerator and freezer compartments For good circulation do not block cold air vents with food items Moisture Reduction Switch some models If moisture forms on the metal between the two doors set the Moisture Reduction Switch located on the control box in the refrigerator compartment to the ON position A heater will warm the surface and allow moisture to evaporate Fresh Food Storage Combination Cantilever Sliding Shelf some models INA Humidity Control B gu pport Foot iY KZ Crisper Cover Support Shelf Adjustment Refrigerator shelves are easily adjustable to suit individual needs Some modelshave sliding shelves others have cantilever shelves Before adjusting shelves remove all food The shipping clips that stabilize the shelves for shipping may be removed and discarded To adjust sliding shelves remove by pulling forward to the stop position then lift the front edge up and pull out Replace on any pair of rails by reversing this procedure To adjust cantilever shelves shelves supported at the rear of the

13. ality It is best to connect ice maker to water that is not softened Chemicals from a softener that does not work can damage the ice maker If ice maker is connected to soft water ensure softener is maintained and working properly To stop the ice maker lift the wire signal arm until it clicks and locks in the up or OFF position The ice maker turns off automatically when the ice container is full If your model has an adjustable freezer shelf place the shelf so the wire signal arm will hit the ice when the ice container is full Ice Maker Tips 1 Ice stored too long may develop an odd flavor Empty the container and be sure the wire signal arm is in its down or ON position The ice maker will then produce more ice 2 Occasionally shake the container to keep ice separated 3 Keep the wire signal arm in its up or OFF position until the refrigerator is connected to the water supply or whenever water supply is turned off 4 Certain sounds are normal when the ice maker is operating They are Motoroperation Ice being loosened from the tray Ice being dropped into the container Running water Water valve opening and closing For more information on these operations see Normal Operating Sounds Wash ice container in warm water with mild detergent Rinse well and dry 6 Stop the ice maker when cleaning the freezer or for short vacations 7 If the ice maker will be turned off for along period of time turn the water supply valve to the c

16. e DO NOT install water supply tubing in areas where temperatures fall below freezing e Connect the ice maker to a potable water source that is not tied into a water softening system Chemicals from the softener may damage the ice maker causing it to malfunction IM PORTANT Ensure that your water supply line connections comply with all local plumbing codes Before Installing The Water Supply Line You Will Need e Basic tools adjustable wrench and standard flat blade screwdriver e Access to a household cold water line with water pressure between 20 and 120 psi e A water supply line made of 1 4 inch 6 4 mm OD copper tubing To determine the length of copper tubing needed you will need to measure the distance from the ice maker inlet valve at the back of the refrigerator to your cold water pipe Then add approximately 7 feet 2 1 meters so the refrigerator can be moved out for cleaning See Figure 1 e A shutoff valve to connect the water supply line to your household water system DO NOT use a self piercing type shutoff valve e A compression nut and ferrule sleeve for connecting the water supply line to the ice maker inlet valve NOTE Water line kit number 5303917950 available from your appliance dealer at additional cost contains 25 feet 7 6 meters of 1 4 OD copper tubing a saddle type shutoff valve nonpiercing 2 4 brass compression nuts 2 ferrules sleeves and instructions for installing a water s
