5. control are covered on the following pages Read them carefully The Timer The timer can be set for up to 25 Minutes of timing This con trols how long the microwave oven cooks TIMER The Cook Power Selector MED LOW HIGH DEFROST COOK MED LOW HIGH The Start Button COOK POWER The Cook Power Selector allows you to control the cooking speed HIGH COOK for normal cooking MED LOW DEFROST for slower cooking and defrosting The START Button starts the cooking The oven door must be closed and securely latched before the oven will operate mn gt m 2 o 2 z 6 5 O 2 zZz Setting the controls Be sure you understand the basics on microwave oven cooking before you start Start with recipes from your MICRO MENUS Cookbook Follow the directions carefully 1 Place food in the oven then close the door The oven won t work if the door isn t closed tightly 3 Set Cook Power Selector to HIGH Cook or MED LOW Defrost To stop the oven 4 Push in and turn the Timer Knob counterclockwise to 0 OR 2 Open the oven door 2 Set cooking times up to 25 minutes by turning the Timer Knob clockwise To reduce the cooking time turn the Timer Knob counterclockwise Each mark is 30 seconds forthe first 10 minutes After 10 min utes each mark is 1 minute 4 Push the START Button The oven light will come on and cooking will begin You will

13. icrowaves may not reach the center of a roast The heat around the outside is what cooks the roast all the way through This is one of the rea sons for letting some foods roasts baked potatoes stand for a while after cook ing or for stirring some foods during the cooking time Metal Floor The ceramic bottom of your microwave oven lets micro waves through Then they bounce off a metal floor back through the ceramic bottom and are absorbed by the food The microwaves disturb water molecules in the food As the molecules bounce around bumping into each other heat is made like rub bing your hands together This is the heat that cooks If you need service or assistance we suggest you follow these four steps 1 Before calling for assistance Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix yourself without tools of any kind If nothing operates e Isthe oven correctly plugged into a live circuit with the proper voltage See page 10 e Have you checked the main fuse or circuit breaker box If the microwave oven will not run e Is the Timer set e Is the door firmly closed and latched e Did you push the START Button e Did you follow the directions on page 6 exactly If the microwave cooking times seem too long e Is the electric supply to your home low or lower than normal Your electric company can tell you if the line voltage is low e Is the Cook Power set correctl
