O 5 If you need service or assistance we suggest you follow these five steps 1 Before calling for assistance Performance problems often result from little things you can find and fix yourself without tools of any kind If your dishwasher will not run or stops during a cycle els the door tightly closed and securely latched e Has the cycle been correctly set e Is the water turned on e Have you checked your home s main fuses or circuit breaker box e 5 the dishwasher wired into a live circuit with the proper voltage e If the motor has stopped because of an over load it will automatically reset itself within a few minutes If the motor does not start call for service your dishwasher seems to run too long e Are you using POTS amp PANS Cycle The dish washer may be waiting for the water to heat Is your household water temperature set too low Low water temperature settings will cause longer dishwasher operating times If water remains in the dishwasher e Has the cycle completed e Asmall amount of remaining water is normal e Is drain air gap clogged If detergent remains in the covered detergent cup e 5 the bottom rack in backwards The rack bumpers should be at the front e Is the dishwasher detergent fresh and dry with out lumps e Is the cycle completed If you hear grinding grating crunching buzz ing sounds e A hard object has probably entered the POWER CLE
7. cups or plastic items inthe bottom rack When lower rack is removed replace with bumpers in front 6 Bottom rack loading Silverware basket loading Load forks and spoons so they don t nest together Spray can t reach nested items NO Mix items in each section of the basket with some pointing up and some down Small items baby bottle caps jar lids etc can be put any section AWARNING Personal Safety Hazard To avoid cuts from sharp items knives forks skewers etc make sure these items are put in point down Make sure sharp items knives forks skewers etc are put in point down The silverware basket can be loaded while it s in place on the door or it can be taken out for loading on the counter or table It can also be removed for easy un loading Always unload or remove the basket before unloading the racks to avoid spilling water droplets on the silverware To remove the basket slide it foward the top of the door by the handle Lift it off the holding buttons Replace it in reverse order To open the basket unhook the latch as shown Be sure the cover is completely latched before pulling out the bottom rack and before closing the dishwasher door Adding detergent The kind and amount of dishwasher detergent you use is an important part of getting your dishes clean Read this section carefully Use automatic dish washer detergent only Other detergents a
8. lt 0 gt 4 gt 2 Ti m gt m lt POWER CLEAN Washing System Your dishwasher cleans by spraying a mixture of hot clean water and detergent against soiled surfaces of dishes When a cycle is started the dishwasher fills with water to about the level of the heating element This water is pumped through the rotating spray arms through the POWER CLEAN Module which removes food particles and back through the rotating spray arms Soiled water is pumped out and replaced with clean water during a cycle the number of times depends on the cycle being used NIN Ys AA Yi AD gt NOS A 97 AAA X The POWER CLEAN Module removes food particles from the water stores them then washes them down the drain ay Load dishes so soiled surfaces face pow erful spray from rotating arms Step saving preparation for washing is not necessary to rinse dishes before putting them Into the dishwasher Just remove large pieces bones and other hard items The POWER CLEAN Module will remove food parti cles from the water contains a chopping de vice which will reduce the size of food items If hard items such as fruit seeds nuts and egg shells enter the POWER CLEAN Module you Water must be hot For best cleaning and drying results water should be atleast 440 F 60 C 4 Turn on hot water faucet nearest the dishwashe

14. h as Jet Dry Changing a setting You can change a setting anytime during any cycle 4 Lift up on the door latch to unlatch the door and stop the cycle Don t open the door until the spray arms stop spinning 2 Turn the Cycle Control Knob clockwise to the cycle you want 3 Be sure the detergent dispensers are filled properly for the new cycle 4 Press door firmly to latch it The dishwasher will automatically start the new cycle To add a dish after starting 1 To be sure the added item is washed and rinsed make sure the Cycle Control Knob has not passed LOW ENERGY WASH 2 Lift up on the door latch to unlatch door to stop the cycle Don t open the door until the spray arms stop spinning 3 Open the door and add the dish 4 Close the door Do not latch it Wait 30 sec onds for air in the dishwasher to warm up This helps reduce the amount of moisture that can come from the vent when restarting the cycle 5 Press door firmly to latch it The dishwasher will automatically start where it stopped uu m 20 gt a 2 e 2 gt 2 O lt O A Q un gt m Energy saving tips You can help save energy if you 4 Wash full loads Running a half filled dish washer uses the same amount of electricity and hot water as a fully loaded machine LOW ENERGY WASH O RINSE S HOLD USE AIR ORY NORMAL WASH eg POTS amp PANS Y D
15. he following e Read all instructions before using the dishwasher e DISHWASHER MUST BE ELECTRICALLY GROUNDED Read the Installation Instruc fions for details e Be sure your dishwasher is installed on a level floor that will hold the weight and in an area suitable for its size and use When discarding an old dishwasher al ways remove the door to prevent acciden tal entrapment REMEMBER use your dishwasher only for the job it was designed to do e Store dishwasher detergent in a cool dry place WHERE CHILDREN CAN T REACH IT e Use ONLY detergents and rinse aids recom mended for use in a dishwasher e Locate sharp items and knives so that they are not likely to damage door seal or cut the user e DO NOT let children play in or on the dishwasher e DO NOT reach into the area below the bot tom rack until the heating element has cooled for at least 20 minutes e DO NOT wash plastic items unless marked Dishwasher Safe or the equivalent If not marked check manufacturer s recommen dations e DO NOT use your dishwasher unless all en closure panels are properly in place e DO NOT sit on stand on or abuse the dish washer door or dish racks e DO NOT tamper with controls e If hot water has not been used recentiy usually two weeks or longer hydrogen gases may build up in the water heater and the hot water pipes HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE To prevent injury or damage before using your dishwasher
