WEIGHT BUSHING 7 PIN GROOVE 146 MADE IN crx 145 CANADA WEIGHT BUSHING PIN GROOVE 146 107 ES a at ee me et Am eee ee ae 3 Assemble two RUBBER BUMPERS 9 to the smaller hole locations on the top of the Welded Bracket at the bottom PO u dP of the REAR UPRIGHT 17 using two ATE C 48 32 SCREWS 10 to bolt down _ T through the Bumpers and then through the Bracket of the Upright Assemble a 8 WASHER 144 onto each Bolt and then secure with 8 32 NUTS 143 Assemble the REAR UPRIGHT 17 onto the two inner 5 16 X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS 1 previously assembled into MA the end of the BASE 15 with NO Flat Bracket Make sure the Rear Upright is 143 positioned with the Open Slot facing away from the center of the unit Se cure the Upright with two 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 The Weight Stack will have thirteen 10 LB WEIGHTS 107 and one 20 LB WEIGHT 145 Into the top of each of the 10 and 20 LB Weights press a WEIGHT BUSHING 146 Note again that Weider is cast in the top of the 10 LB Weights and Made in Canada in the 20 LB Weight Working with one Weight at a time slide thirteen 10 LB WEIGHTS 107 onto the REAR UPRIGHT 17 making sure that the Weider logo is on top and This Collar must be installed facing the weight selector tube nj that the Pin Groove in the top of th
2. 23 and then bolt through the back of the VAF Upright and the Pivot Tube Assemble another 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto the Bolt and secure with a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 6 Press two 1 3 4 INNER CAPS 29 into the ends of the arms of the ARM PRESS 12 Insert one 1 3 8 O D x 1 long PLASTIC BUSHING 149 into the outside of each weided bushing at the top of ARM PRESS SELECTORH 3 Assemble the ARM PRESS SELECTOR 3 to the inside and top of the ARM PRESS 12 by inserting the 11 ARM PRESS TUBE 104 through one side of the Arm Press and then through both Plates of the Arm Press Selector and finally through the oposite side of the Arm Press Secure using two 5 16 x 2 BOLTS 95 to bolt through the large hole opening in the top and front of the Arm Press and then through the 11 Arm Press Tube Assemble a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 Press 1 COVER CAPS 100 onto the ends of the 11 ARM PRESS TUBE 104 Press 3 4 PLUG CAPS 119 3 4 stamped inside 36 into the large hole where the 5 16 X 2 Bolts 95 were assembled into the front of the ARM PRESS 12 Assemble the SHORT HANDLES 47 into the lower ARM PRESS 12 arms Attach each Short Handle by first asembling a 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 and a 1 2 X 3 8 SPACER 57 onto each 5 16 X 2 1 4 BOLT 23 and then bolting through the front of the Arms and then through the Short Handle Assem ble another 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto the Bolt and secure with
3. 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto a 5 16 X 3 1 4 BOLT 115 and insert in the hole behind the E 9 Lever Arm on FRONT UPRIGHT 19 7 NEP Press a 1 3 4 INNER CAP 29 into the top of the VAF UPRIGHT 97 Press 1 ROUND CAPS 43 into the 5 shorter end of the Welded Tubes on the upper VAF Upright Remove the 3 8 NYLON LOCK NUT 63 from the pre assembled 3 8 X 2 3 4 BOLT 55 in the lower Cross member of the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 DO NOT remove the Bolt Assemble the VAF UPRIGHT 97 onto the pre assembled 3 8 X 2 3 4 BOLT 55 in the Cross member of the Front Upright and also onto the pre assembled 5 16 X2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS 1 in fhe STABILIZER 16 Re assemble the 3 8 NYLON LOCK NUT 63 to the 3 8 X 2 3 4 bolt 55 Assemble a 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto a 5 16 X 2 1 2 BOLT 14 and bolt through the remaining hole in the Cross member of the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 and then into the Welded Bracket of the VAF UPRIGHT 97 Fasten with a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 DO NOT tighten this assembly at this time Attach the VAF Upright to the STABILIZER 16 with two 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 Tighten ALL Nylon Lock nuts used in the previous assernbly steps Steps 4 5 Press 1 ROUND CAPS 43 into the ends of the STEPPER TUBE 148 Insert the STEPPER TUBE 148 into the hole location on the lower VAF UPRIGHT 97 Assemble a 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 and a 1 2 X 3 8 SPACER 57 onto a 5 16 X2 1 4 BOLT

5. 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 Press a 1 ROUND CAP 43 onto one end of each lt SHORT HANDLE 47 Position four 1 4 FLAT WASHER 6 on top and at the front of the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 at the four bolt hole locations Position a THIN METAL PLATE 99 between the Flat Washers Apply grease to the 11 ARM PRESS TUBE 104 between the top of the ARM PRESS 12 Assemble the two ARM PRESS BUSH INGS 60 around the Tube and set this assembly onto the top and front of the Front Upright and onto the Thin Metal Plate making sure to position the Arm Press with the Joining Bracket on the Selector Plates toward the inside of the unit Place the ARM PRESS CAP 59 on top of the ARM PRESS BUSHINGS 60 Bolt in place using four 1 4 X 5 4 SCREWS 7 to bolt up through the bottom of the Front Upright through the Flat Washers and the Atm Press Cap Secure with 1 4 NYLON LOCK NUTS 5 Attach the BAR HOLDER 58 to the top of the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 and to the front of the ARM PRESS CAP 59 using two 1 4 X 3 A TAPER SCREWS 89 to bolt down through the Bar Holder and then through the Front Upright Secure with 1 4 NYLON LOCK NUTS 9 Assemble the J PIN 61 into the upper ARM PRESS 12 and thorugh one of the hole settings in the ARM PRESS SELECTOR 3 7 Attach the SHORT ARM SHOCKS 25 to the Welded Joining Bracket on the ARM PRESS SE LECTOR 3 using 5 16 X 1 3 4 BOLTS 106 to bolt through the Shocks Next as

LE BRACKET 135 Fasten a 1 4 NYLON LOCK NUI 5 about halfway up the threaded end of the Weight Cable See insert drawing B Assemble a WEIGHT BRACKET 110 and a 1 2 X 7 16 BUSHING 134 onto a 5 16 X 1 1 4 BOLT 2 Insert the CABLE BRACKET 135 and CABLE 70 down into the top of the WEIGHT TUBE 108 inside the REAR UPRIGHT 17 Insert the 5 16 X 1 1 4 into the Weight Tube and on thread into the CABLE BRACKET 135 po sitioning the J Hook on the WEIGHT BRACKET 1 10 into the Pin Groove under the top WEIGHT 145 Insert a WEIGHT SELECTOR PIN 112 into one of the Pin Groove and tighten the assembly Assemble a THIN RUBBER BUMPER 147 to the top and front of the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 with a 8 X 1 2 SELF TAPPING SCREW 133 Attach the lower FRONT UPRIGHT 19 to the BASE 15 with two 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 DO NOT tighten this assembly at this fime Attach the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 to the CENTER UP RIGHT 18 using a 5 16 X 2 3 4 BOLT 122 To bolt through the Welded Brackets below the lower Cross member of the Front Upright and through the hole at the top of the Center Upright Fasten with a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 DO NOT tighten at this time Assemble the FRONT UPRIGHT 19 to the REAR UPRIGHT 17 by first assembling a 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto a 5 16 X 1 3 4 SCREW 53 and then bolting into the Rear Upright and then into the Cross member of the Front Upright Assemble a

PR RRS YA NI SR A n dh PEE 2 Rear Weight stack Front Weight Stack iu Tit 1 EMI es j Low Pulley Station Foot Plates Co ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two people Due to the size and weight of the hard drive system it should be assembled in the location where it willbe used Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed Before beginning assembly read each step and look at each drawing carefully As you assemble the hard drive system make sure that all parts are oriented as shown in the drawings For help identifying the small part used in assembly refer to the PART IDENTIFICATION CHART accompanying this owner s manual 4 Assembly requires the following fools not included two adjustable wrenches a philips screwdriver a flat head screwdriver and two rubber mallets Grease and a small bowl of soapy water are also needed 1 Begin by pressing a 2 INNER CAP 13 and a 2 OUTER CAP 127 onto the BASE 15 Press a 2 OUTER CAP 127 onto the STABILIZER 16 Turn the Stabilizer so that the small hole near the Welded bracket is to ihe top Assemble the BASE SHROUD BRACKETS 20 to the bottom of the BASE 15 Position one Bracket on the leg of the Base which has NO Flat Bracket Place the Bracket at the hole location between the Two sets of holes and also position the Bracket so that the longer flat side is tow

11. ard the inside of the unit Secure in place using a 48 X 1 2 SELF TAPPING SCREW 133 to bolt up through the bottom of ihe Bracket and into the bottom of the Base Position the second Shroud Bracket on the opposite side of the intersection of the legs of the Base between the intersection and the welded cornor bracket Position the Bracket with the iong flat side on the inside of the unit Secure in place with a 8 X 1 2 SELF TAPPING SCREW 133 bolting up through the bottom of the Bracket and into the bottom of the Base Insert eight 5 16 X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS 1 up through the bottom of the BASE 15 insert two 5 16 X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS 1 up through the STABILIZER 16 Attach the STABILIZER 16 to the BASE 15 by first assembling 5 16 FLAT WASHERS 45 onto two 5 16 X 2 3 4 BOLTS 122 and then bolting through the Base and into the Welded Bracket of the Stabilizer Secure with 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 E Attach a RUBBER BUMPER 9 to the top of the BASE 15 in the hole location near the intersection of the Base Legs Use a 1 1 4 TAP SCREW 8 to boli down through the Rubber Bumper and into the Base Attach a RUBBER BUMPER 9 to the top of the STABILIZER 16 in the hole located near the Welded i Bracket using a 1 1 4 TAP SCREW 8 WELDED wo BO BRACKET ema m e ee te E Assemble the CENTER UPRIGHT 18 onto the two 5 16 X 2 1 2 CAR RIAGE BOLTS 1 previously assem bled in the BASE 15 a
12. e Weights is on the same side of the Rear Upright as the Open Slot Assemble four ROLLERS 109 onto the short Pins on a WEIGHT TUBE 108 making sure that the collar of each Roller is facing the Weight Tube See Detail A Slide the Weight Tube down info the top of the REAR UPRIGHT 17 d i re s i Stl asec PEN IERI a LINEA CM M E MEM C C E M MCI EC QD DUC MN DE ee vaa c 4 Assemble the FRONT UP whee t Pd RIGHT 19 onto the two 5 16 oe DRAWING A es X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLTS 1 previously assembled in the BASE 1 leg with the smaller Welded Flat Bracket DO NOT secure at this time Insert the end of the WEIGHT CABLE 70 down into the top of the REAR UPRIGHT 17 E Assemble the UPRIGHT BRACKETS 84 around and behind the holelocations on the upper REAR UPRIGHT 17 and then assemble the upper FRONT UPRIGHT 19 over the top of the Rear Upright positioning the Brack ets between the two Uprights Align the bolt holes Assemble 5 16 FLAT WASHERS 45 onto two 5 16 X 3 1 4 BOLTS 115 and then bolt through the Front Up right the Upright Brackets and the Rear Upright NOTE Make sure the WEIGHT CABLE 70 is positioned behind the Bolts Assemble another 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto each Bolt followed with a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 DO NOT tighten this assembly at the time See insert drawing A Insert the threaded end of ihe WEIGHT CABLE 70 into the top of the CAB
13. eth of the Retainer Ring should be positioned outward and use the 1 COVER CAP 51 as an 25 aid to help secure the Retainer Ring in place Tap the Cap and Retainer Ring on using a mallet Assemble a 3 8 FLAT WASHER 64 onto the threaded bolt in the LARGE LINK TUBE 88 Next assemble this bolt into the Welded U Bracket on the LEVER ARM 94 Fasten with a 3 8 JAM NUT 141 Attach the other end of the LARGE LINK TUBE 88 to the bolt hole location in the center of the MILITARY PRESS ARM 87 using a 3 8 X 3 1 4 BOLT 159 to bolt through the Large Link Tube Next assemble a 3 8 FLAT WASHER 64 onto the Bolt and then continue now to bolt through the Military Press Arm Fasten with a 3 8 NYLON LOCK NUT 63 but DO NOT over tighten This assembly asit must be able to move freely 19 ife Front Upright 87 97 SS A E NEST 2 26 Center Upright 16 oO 12 Press 1 ROUND CAPS 43 into the one end of the LONG HAN DLES 81 Press 1 1 2 INNER CAPS 38 into the ends of the 86 LEFT VAF ARM 24 and the RIGHT VAF ARM 79 Attach the LEFT and RIGHT VAF ARMS 24 amp 79 to the sides of the upper VAF UPRIGHT 97 us ing two 5 16 X 2 1 2 BOLTS 14 and 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 Bolt the LONG HANDLES 81 into the LEFT and RIGHT VAF ARMS 24 amp 79 by first assembling a 9 16 FLAT WASHER 45 and a 1 2 x 1 4 BUSHING 44 onto a 9 16 X 2 BOLT 95 and

15. gh the top of the Seat Frame Assemble 1 4 FLAT WASHERS 6 onto the Bolts and secure with 1 4 NYLON LOCK NUTS 5 Attach the SEAT 31 to the SEAT BRACKETS 39 making sure fo align the narrow end of the Seat toward the Bracket on the Seat Frame Secure using 1 4 X 3 4 SCREWS 7 to bolt up through the Brackets and into the Seat Press a 1 1 2 INNER CAP 38 into the bottom end of the LEG LEVER 33 Attach the LEG LEVER 33 to the SEAT FRAME 32 with a 5 16 X2 1 4 BOLT 23 and a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 DO NOT over tighten as the Leg Lever must pivot freely Insert the 5 16 X 2 1 2 EYEBOLT 37 through the back of the LEG LEVER 33 Slide a 5 16 FLAT WASHER 45 onto the Eyebolt and tighten a 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUT 4 onto the Eye bolt Press 3 4 ROUND CAPS 36 into the ends of two PAD TUBES 35 Insert one PAD TUBE 35 into the ac cess hole at the front of the SEAT FRAME 32 Center the Pad Tube and slide a 7 FOAM PAD 34 onto each end of it insert the other Pad Tube into the lower LEG LEVER 33 and slide a 7 Foam Pad onto each end of if EE E Position the Bracket on the SEA FRAME 32 onto the Welded Pin on the lower FRONT UPRIGHT 19 Align the hole in the Bracket with the hole in the Upright and secure using a 5 16 X 2 3 4 CARRIAGE BOLT 118 to bolt through the Seat Frame and the Upright Tighten a 5 16 KNO 11 onto the Bolt Attach the Leg Lever to the Lower Pulley

20. nspect and tighten ail parts each time you use the hard drive systern Replace any worn parts immediately The hard drive system can be cleaned using a SUR cloth and a mild non abrasive detergent Do not use solvents TIGHTENING THE CABLES Woven cable the type of Cable used on the hard drive system can stretch slightly when it is first used If there is slack in the cables before resistance is felt the cables should be tightened Follow the instructions below to lighten the cables Locate the adjustment sleeve and adjustment screw near the lower end of the Pulley Cable 69 Loosen the adjustment screw Pull the end of the Pulley Cable until the Pulley Cable is tight slide the adjustment sleeve and the ball against the low pulley and retighten the adjustment screw Make sure that the cable is not too tight or the top weight on the rear weight stack will ps lifted off the weight stack If the cables cannot be tightened by following the instructions above see the instructions below Remove the 5 16 x 1 1 4 Bolt 2 Weight Bracket 110 and 1 2 x 7 16 Bushing 134 from the Weight Tube 108 in the rear weight stack Remove the Cable Bracket 135 from the Weight Tube Tighten the 1 4 Nut 134 farther onto the end of the Weight Cable 70 Reassemble the parts Repeat if necessary until there is no slack inthe cables Make sure that the cable is not too tight or the top weight on the rear weight stack will be l

26. t the intersection of the Base and STABI LIZER 16 making sure to assemble the open slot in the Center Upright in the direction of the smaller Flat Bracket on the Base Secure with two 5 16 NYLON LOCK NUTS 4 The Weight Stack will have thirteen 10 LB WEIGHTS 107 and one 20 LB WEIGHT 145 However at this time press Into the top of all 26 of the 10 LB Weights and the two 20 LB Weights a WEIGHT BUSHING 146 Note that Weider is cast in the Top of the 10 Lb Weights and Made in Canada in the 20 LB Weight NOTE THAT THE WEIGHT BUSHINGS HAVE A PIN GROVE ALSO AND THIS PIN GROVE SHOULD BE INSTALLED INTO THE WEIGHT PIN GROVE Working with one Weight at a time side thirteen 10 LB WEIGHTS 107 and one 20 LB WEIGHT 145 onto the CENTER UPRIGHT 18 making sure that the cast logos are to the top and that the Pin Groove in the top of each Weight is on the same side of the Center Upright as the open slot insert a 5 16 X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLT 1 through the hole in the top of the WEIGHT TUBE 108 Assemble four ROLLERS 109 onto the Short Pins on the sides of the WEIGHT TUBE 108 making sure that the collar of each Roller is fac ing the Weight Tube See Detail A Slide the Weight Tube down into ihe CENTER UPRIGHT 18 making sure that the Weight Tube is turned so that the threaded end of the 5 16 X 2 1 2 CARRIAGE BOLT 1 is on the same side of the Center Upright as the open slot
