1. Place the computer upside down on a protected surface with the front edge facing you Push left tab in the unlock position Lift to remove Step 2 Remove the Battery Pack 1 2 Slide the left battery tab to the unlock position With your right thumb slide the right battery tab in the release direction and hold Remove the battery by lifting the side where the arrow is pointing HDD Bay SSD Removal Steps 3 8 Step 3 Locate the SSD HDD Bay Place the computer on the protected surface with the Solid State Drive Hard Disk Drive SSD HDD Bay facing you as shown in the picture FOR TECHNI CAL SUPPORT IN THE US CALL TOLL FREE 1 866 651 7669 FROM 9 00 AM TO 11 00 PM EST P N 994660400 Rev A 1 2 SONY VG N AWxx Senes Solid State Drive Replacement Instruc tons Step 5 Using the enclosed magnetic screwdriver remove the screw securing the SSD HDD access cover j Step 6 Remove the SSD HDD access cover by sliding it in the direction of the arrows shown above Step 7 Using the enclosed magnetic screwdriver remove the three 3 screws securing the SSD assembly i Step 8 To remove the drive s carefully detach the SSD from the connector in the direction shown Some force may be needed to unlock the SSD assembly from the connector Remove the drive by holding on the black plastic tab and housing ai B D Ee ao i i Le e2. 3. e oS oe Step 9 Replace the old SSD assembly with the new one Carefully place the SSD assembly on the SSD bay Step 10 Attach the drive s to the SSD connector by moving the new SSD assembly in the direction of the arrows shown in the picture Step 11 Reinstall the three 3 previously removed screws to secure the SSD assembly in place Step 12 Re attach the SSD HDD access cover and secure it with the screw shown in the picture Step 13 Reinstall the battery pack and reconnect the AC Adaptor Continue with the recovery process by following the instructions described on the back of the recovery disk s case Return the old SSD to Sony following the included shipping instructions FOR TECHNI CAL SUPPORT IN THE US CALL TOLL FREE 1 866 651 7669 FROM 9 00 AM TO 11 00 PM EST 2 2
