Form A203B Date 2004August13 A INSTRUCTIONS FOR gt SIOUX AIR SANDER amp POLISHER NO 1287 NO 1238 1 2 NIPPLE 1 4 1 2 BUSHING 44100 J 1 2 PIPE MINIMUM 1 4 3 8 BUSHING 1392 3 8 COUPLER amp NIPPLE FILTER 44100 MAXIMUM 20 3 8 HOSE OVER 20 N USE 1 2 HOSE OILER 1 4 3 8 BUSHING AIR SUPPLY The tool is designed to operate at approximately 90 pounds per square inch air pressure at the inlet to the 3 8 inch hose supplied with the tool Pipe and fittings should be a minimum of 1 2 inch diameter The above illustration gives additional information Note that hose fittings must have inlet holes 9 32 inch or larger The tool is designed for use with a filter and lubricator LUBRICATION Fill the lubricator with Sioux No 288 Air Motor Oil and set lubricator to 1 2 drops per minute The gear case is filled with 1 1 8 oz of Sioux No 1198 Grease After 100 hrs of operation pull the gear case cover by removing the 4 screws directly above the spindle and inspect for lubrication Replace grease if necessary Turn the spindle with the fingers before tightening the screws to make certain the gears are in mesh Caution Disconnect tool from air line before changing discs or pads After 40 hrs of use inject 2 or 3 shots of Cat 1198 grease through grease fitting PLACING TOOL IN OPERATION Drain water from the air compressor and blow condensation from the air lines before
