ROTEL RCD 940BX Stereo Compact Disc Player Owners Manual Please write the serial number and purchase date of this RCD 940BX for your records in the space provided Serial Number Purchase date FRO TEHEL STEREO COMPACT DISC PLAYER RCO 9408x REMOTE SENSOR B 8 TIMES OVERSAMPUNG OPN CLS MULTIBIT DUAL D A CONVERTER Please refer to this drawing of the Front Panel when reading the section about Controls and the Display on the RCD 940BX CONTROLS ON THIS CD PLAYER The POWER button will turn the CD player ON and OFF Push it in and the RCD 940BX will turn ON The POWER INDICATOR and the DISPLAY will illuminate at the same time If you push the Power button again the power will go OFF and the Power Indicator and the Display will extinguish The OPEN CLOSE PLAY STOP PAUSE AND TRACK buttons are underneath the Display The PROGRAM CLEAR REPEAT TIME and SEARCH buttons are to the right of the Display We have attempted to make the most used controls be the easiest to find The Display panel includes the REMOTE SENSOR for receiving the Infra Red signals from the REMOTE CONTROL HANDSET Please be certain not to block this as the Remote Control Handset will not function if this is covered or blocked The Display on the RCD 940BX will normally show a O when there is no disc in the machine The Open Close button will Open the Drawer after you have pushed it A second push of the button will Close the Drawer Pre

Program button on the CD player or the Remote Control the PRGM will show on the Display Panel Next to select the Track Number you wish to Program It will be displayed in the Display Panel Press the Program button again and the song track will be entered into the Program memory Repeat this for the tracks you wish to program Press the Program button to review the Programmed order after you entered The RCD 940BX will remember up to 20 tracks in a program The CLEAR button is used with the Program button when you wish to delete a certain track that you have entered to the Program Pressing the STOP or OPEN button will completely erase a Program from the memory if you wish The PRGM on the Display Panel will disappear The REPEAT button will allow you to play a whole disc or a programmed song or songs repeatedly until you press the REPEAT button again or press OPEN button to cancel this function This may be combined with Random play as well The REPEAT function is shown as a circular shaped arrow in the Display Panel The TIME function will illuminate the time readout for the Time Elapsed in a song Time Remaining in a song and then Total Time Elapsed of the whole disc by pressing Time button once by once No function during Random mode The SEARCH buttons lt lt gt gt will cause the CD player to go forward or backwards in time quickly when playing a song These can be useful if you are attempting to learn the words in a song fo

5. r example The REMOTE CONTROL HANDSET RR 921 duplicates all the functions on the Front Panel of the RCD 940BX except the OPEN CLOSE button The Play and Pause buttons are combined on the remote for convenience The Remote Control includes a button for RANDOM play This will allow you to play back a disc in a Random sequence Random will play Tracks that you have entered into a Program Display Panel show during Random play You may also press Repeat with this function and ie CD player will play till you press Stop button Please refer to this drawing of the Rear panel of the RCD 940BX when connecting to your stereo system CONNECTING THE RCD 940BX TO YOUR STEREO The rear panel of the RCD 940BX has the OUTPUT connections for the CD player These are RCA jacks and are designed to be connected to the CD or AUX input of your stereo integrated amp receiver or preamplifier Please observe the correct Left and Right Channel connections for optimum enjoyment of your stereo High performance patch cables will improve the sound of A your stereo and we recommend them Ask your ROTEL hi fi AUTHORIZED DEALER for advice about cables for analog and digital signals There may be an Optional 75 ohm Coaxial Digital Output on the back panel This is to be connected with a quality 75 ohm impedance RCA cable to the input on your external Digital to Analog Converter This RCA Digital Output is Optional and not available in all markets FEATURES
