1. SYMPTOM The incline of the treadmill does not change correctly a Calibrate the incline system see step 4 on page 30 SYMPTOM The walking belt slows when walked on a Use only a surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 18 If the walking belt is overtightened treadmill per formance may decrease and the walking belt may become damaged Remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws counterclockwise 1 4 of a turn 39 When the walking belt is properly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened Idler Roller Screws Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high performance lubricant IMPORTANT Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Such substances may deterio rate the walking belt and cause excessive wear If you suspect that the walking belt needs more lubricant see the front cover of this manual If the walking belt still slows when walked on see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The walking belt is off

Select Channel List to view a list of channels saved in the TV memory Highlight a channel and press Enter to select the channel Select Favorite List to view a list of your favorite channels Highlight a channel and press Enter to select the channel Note You must first select favorite channels to create the Favorite List 5 Adjust the parental control settings The Parental menu allows you to block or allow various settings on the 15 digital TV First enter the Lock Parental Code password which is a 4 digit PIN Note The default password is 0000 Once the password has been entered the Parental menu will be unlocked Select V CHIP to control which television and movie ratings are blocked or allowed Note The lock icon will indicate whether a rating has been blocked or allowed Select Change Password to change the Lock Parental Code password Enter the old password once then enter the new password twice to con firm You will now have to enter the new password to enter the Parental menu Note If you forget your password enter the following master password to access locked menus 1470 Select Keypad Lock to lock the keypad Select Source Lock to lock a specific audio video input source such as TV AV or HDMI Set up the basic television settings The Setup menu allows you to adjust the closed caption settings the language used in the menus and the clock settings To enter the closed caption submenu high

Adjust the audio settings The Audio menu offers numerous features for ad justing the TV audio output Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the various settings and per sonalize the audio settings 35 Adjust the channel settings The Channel menu allows you to save channels in the TV memory and select settings for chan nels Note You can only access this menu if TV is selected as the input source First scroll to the bottom of the Channel menu and highlight Auto Channel Search Press the Enter button to start the auto scan The television will begin scanning all of the channels available in your area When no signal is detected on a channel the channel will be skipped When a signal is detected the channel will be saved into memory and the next channel will be selected This process will continue until the highest channel number is reached The television will renumber the channels in the order in which it locates them Do not remove the key while the television is scanning channels Note If a television channel disappears scan for chan nels again Next select Channel Settings to view a list of chan nels saved in the TV memory Select a checkbox in the Skip column and press Enter to have the TV not use this channel Select a checkbox in the Favorite column to add the channel to your favorite channels list Select the text in the Label column to change the channel s label Edit the label using the arrow buttons
6. 22 23 24 25 26 27 The heart rate monitor is not a medical device Various factors including the user s movement may affect the accuracy of heart rate readings The heart rate monitor is intended only as an exercise aid in determin ing heart rate trends in general Never leave the treadmill unattended while itis running Always remove the key press the power switch into the off position see the drawing on page 6 for the location of the power switch and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use Do not attempt to move the treadmill until it is properly assembled See ASSEMBLY on page 8 and HOW TO FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL on page 37 You must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs 20 kg to move the treadmill When folding or moving the treadmill make sure that the storage latch is holding the frame securely in the storage position Never insert any object into any opening on the treadmill Inspect and properly tighten all parts of the treadmill regularly DANGER Always unplug the power cord immediately after use before clean ing the treadmill and before performing the maintenance and adjustment procedures described in this manual Never remove the motor hood unless instructed to do so by an authorized service representative Servicing other than the procedures in this manual should be performed by an authorized ser vice representative only The treadmill is intended for home

Keep the included hex keys in a secure place one of the hex keys is used to adjust the walking belt see pages 39 and 40 16 THE CHEST HEART RATE MONITOR HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RATE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown Then press the end of the sen sor under the buckle on the chest strap The tab should be flush with the front of the sensor Chest Strap Tabs The heart rate moni Sensor Buckle tor must be worn under your clothes tight against your skin Wrap the heart rate monitor around your chest in the location shown Make sure that the logo is right side up Then attach the other end of the chest strap to the sensor Adjust the length of the chest strap if necessary Pull the sensor away from your body a few inches and locate the two electrode areas which are covered by shallow ridges Using saline solution such as saliva or contact lens solution wet the electrode areas Then return the sensor to a position against your chest CARE AND MAINTENANCE Thoroughly dry the sensor with a soft towel after each use Moisture may keep the sensor activated shortening the life of the battery Store the heart rate monitor in a warm dry place Do not store the heart rate monitor in a plastic bag or other container that may trap moisture 17 Do not expose the he

Plug one end of your audio wire into the audio jack on the side of the console Then plug the other end into a jack on your MP3 player CD player or other personal audio player Make sure that your audio wire is fully plugged in Next press the play but ton on your MP3 player CD player or other personal audio player Then adjust the volume level on your personal audio player or press the vol ume increase and decrease buttons on the console Increase Decrease If you are using a personal CD player and the CD skips set the CD player on the floor or another flat surface instead of on the console 32 HOW TO USE THE INTERNET BROWSER Note To use the browser you must have access to a wireless network including an 802 11b n router with SSID broadcast enabled hidden networks are not supported To open the browser touch the globe button near the lower left corner of the screen Then select a website To return to the previous web page press the back button on the console or touch the Browser Back but ton on the screen To exit the browser press the home button on the console or touch the Return button on the screen To use the keyboard see HOW TO USE THE TOUCH SCREEN on page 22 To enter a different web address in the URL bar first slide your finger down the screen to view the URL bar if necessary Then touch the URL bar use the key board to enter the address and touch the Go button Note Whi

12. 40 50 60 70 80 To find the proper intensity level find your age at the bottom of the chart ages are rounded off to the near est ten years The three numbers listed above your age define your training zone The lowest number is the heart rate for fat burning the middle number is the heart rate for maximum fat burning and the highest number is the heart rate for aerobic exercise 42 Burning Fat To burn fat effectively you must exer cise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time During the first few minutes of exercise your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy If your goal is to burn fat adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone For maximum fat burning exercise with your heart rate near the middle number in your training zone Aerobic Exercise your goal is to strengthen your cardiovascular system you must perform aerobic exercise which is activity that requires large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods of time For aerobic exercise adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the highest number in your training zone WORKOUT GUIDELINES Warming Up Start with 5 to 10 minutes of stretch ing and light exercise A warm up increases your body temperature heart rate and circulation in pre
13. must be able to safely lift 45 Ibs 20 kg to raise lower or move the treadmill 1 Hold the metal frame firmly in the location shown by the arrow below CAUTION Do not hold the frame by the plastic foot rails Bend your legs and keep your back straight 2 Raise the frame until the latch knob locks in the storage position CAUTION Make sure that the latch knob locks To protect the floor or carpet place a mat under the treadmill Keep the treadmill out of direct sunlight Do not leave the treadmill in the storage position in temperatures above 85 F 30 C 37 Before moving the treadmill fold it as described at the left CAUTION Make sure that the latch knob is locked in the storage position Moving the treadmill may require two people 1 Hold the frame and one of the handrails and place one foot against a wheel Pull back on the handrail until the treadmill will roll on the wheels and carefully move it to the desired location CAUTION Do not move the treadmill without tipping it back do not pull on the frame and do not move the treadmill over an uneven surface Place one foot against a wheel and carefully lower the treadmill HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 See drawing 2 Hold the upper end of the tread mill frame with your right hand Then pull the latch knob to the left IMPORTANT Do not turn the latch knob If necessary push the frame forward slightly Pivot

20. you press one of the buttons the speed setting will change by 0 1 mph if you hold down the button the speed setting will change in increments of 0 5 mph If you press one of the numbered 1 Step Speed buttons the walking belt will gradually change speed until it reaches the selected speed setting To select a speed setting that includes a decimal such as 3 5 mph press two numbered buttons in succession For example to select a speed setting of 3 5 mph press the 3 button and then immedi ately press the 5 button To stop the walking belt press the Stop button To restart the walking belt press the Start button Change the incline of the treadmill as desired To change the incline of the treadmill press the Incline increase and decrease buttons or one of the numbered 1 Step Incline Decline buttons 24 Each time you press one of the buttons the incline will gradually change until it reaches the selected incline setting Note The first time you adjust the incline you must first calibrate the incline system see step 4 on page 30 Monitor your progress The console offers sev eral display modes The display mode that you select will determine which workout information is shown To select the desired display mode simply flick or slide the screen You can also view additional information by touching the red boxes on the screen As you walk or run on the treadmill the
21. 5 The CH increase and decrease but tons will select only channels that are stored in memory If a satellite TV box VCR DVD player or Blu ray player is connected and used as the input source the channel must be changed on the satel lite TV box VCR DVD player or Blu ray player Adjust the volume as desired Note The Vol increase and decrease buttons do not affect the volume of the 15 digital TV To adjust the TV volume either use the on screen control see HOW TO USE THE ENTERTAINMENT MODE at the right or use the remote control see HOW TO USE THE REMOTE CONTROL on page 34 When the volume is adjusted a graphic will appear on screen to show which volume setting is selected Mute the TV if desired Press the Mute button to turn off the TV s audio output Press the button again or adjust the volume to turn on the TV s audio output Use closed captioning if desired If the TV show or movie you are watching has closed captioning you can use this feature to dis play an on screen text version of the audio output To view closed captioning on the 15 digital TV press the CC button repeatedly see step 6 on page 36 to adjust closed captioning settings When you are done using the 15 digital TV turn the TV off To turn off the 15 digital TV press the TV power button HOW TO USE THE ENTERTAINMENT MODE The console features an entertainment mode that allows you to access an on screen remote control 1

27. art rate monitor to direct sun light for extended periods of time do not expose it to temperatures above 122 F 50 or below 14 F 10 C Do not excessively bend or stretch the sensor when using or storing the heart rate monitor To clean the sensor use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap Then wipe the sensor with a damp cloth and thoroughly dry it with a soft towel Never use alcohol abrasives or chemicals to clean the sensor Hand wash and air dry the chest strap TROUBLESHOOTING If the heart rate monitor does not function properly try the steps below Make sure that you are wearing the heart rate moni tor as described at the left If the heart rate monitor does not function when positioned as described move it slightly lower or higher on your chest If heart rate readings are not displayed until you begin perspiring rewet the electrode areas For the console to display heart rate readings you must be within arm s length of the console If there is a battery cover on the back of the sensor replace the battery with a new battery of the same type The heart rate monitor is designed to work with people who have normal heart rhythms Heart rate reading problems may be caused by medical condi tions such as premature ventricular contractions pvcs tachycardia bursts and arrhythmia The operation of the heart rate monitor can be affected by magnetic interference from high power lines

30. been exposed to cold temperatures allow it to warm to room tem perature before you turn on the power If you do not do this you may damage the console display or other electrical components Plug in the power cord see page 18 Next locate the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord Make sure that the switch is in the reset position Reset B IMPORTANT The console features a display demo mode designed to be used if the treadmill is dis played in a store If the demo mode is turned on the display will show a demo presentation after you plug in the power cord and press the power switch into the reset position before you insert the key To turn off the demo mode see step 6 on page 29 Next stand on the foot rails of the treadmill Locate the clip attached to the key and slide Clip the clip securely onto the waistband of your mM clothes Then insert the key into the con sole IMPORTANT In an emergency the key can be pulled from the console causing the walking belt to slow to a stop Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward if the key is not pulled from the console adjust the position of the clip mmp Key Note It may take a minute for the console to be ready for use 22 HOW TO USE THE TOUCH SCREEN The console features a tablet with a full color touch screen The following information will help you become familiar with
31. center or slips when walked on a If the walking belt is off center first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD If the walking belt has shifted to the left use the hex key to turn the left idler roller screw clockwise 1 2 of a turn if the walking belt has shifted to the right turn the left idler roller screw counterclock wise 1 2 of a turn Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt Then plug in the power cord insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walking belt is centered If the walking belt slips when walked on first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Using the hex key turn both idler roller screws clockwise 1 4 of a turn When the walk ing belt is correctly tightened you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in 5 to 7 cm off the walking platform Be careful to keep the walking belt centered Then plug in the power cord insert the key and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes Repeat until the walk ing belt is properly tightened 40 SYMPTOM The iFit Live mode does not function correctly a If the Fit Live mode is not functioning correctly make sure that the treadmill has the most current firmware available see step 3 on page 30 SYMPTOM The treadmill will not connect to the wireless network a Make sure that the wireless settings on your con sole are correct see step 4 on page 31 b Make sure that the s

33. e the treadmill will turn off and then turn back on If it does not press the power switch into the off position Wait for several seconds and then press the power switch into the reset position Note It may take a few minutes for the console to be ready for use To avoid damaging the treadmill do not turn off the power or remove the key while the firmware is being updated 30 Note Occasionally a firmware update may cause your console to function slightly differently These updates are always designed to improve your exer cise experience Calibrate the incline system of the treadmill Touch the Calibrate Incline button Then touch the Begin button to calibrate the incline system The treadmill will automatically rise to the maximum incline level lower to the minimum incline level and then return to the starting position This will calibrate the incline system Press the Cancel but ton to return to the maintenance mode When the incline system is calibrated touch the Finish button IMPORTANT Keep pets feet and other objects away from the treadmill while the incline sys tem is calibrating In an emergency pull the key from the console to stop the incline calibration View machine information Touch the Machine Info button to view information about your treadmill After you view the information touch the back button on the screen Find keycodes The Keycodes button is intended to be used by service technic

52. or other sources If you suspect that magnetic interference is causing a problem try relocating the fitness equipment HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL HOW TO CONNECT THE POWER CORD Use a Surge Suppressor Your treadmill like other electronic equipment can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home s power Voltage surges spikes and noise interfer ence can result from weather conditions or from other appliances being turned on or off To decrease the risk of damaging the treadmill always use a surge suppressor with the treadmill To purchase a surge suppressor see precaution 12 on page 3 Use only a surge suppressor that is UL 1449 listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor TVSS The surge suppressor must have a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules The surge suppressor must also be electri cally rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps There must be a monitoring light on the surge suppressor to indi cate whether it is functioning properly Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the control system of the treadmill and serious injury to users Plug in the Power Cord The treadmill must be grounded If it should malfunc tion or break down grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of elec tric shock The treadmill power cord has a plug witha grounding pin see drawing 1 on this
53. page A DANGER Improper connection of the power cord increases the risk of elec tric shock Do not modify the plug if it will not fit an outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician If you are unsure whether the treadmill is properly grounded contact a qualified electrician Plug the power cord into a surge suppressor and plug the surge suppressor into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances The outlet must be on a 18 nominal 120 volt circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps To avoid overloading the circuit do not plug other electrical devices except for low power devices such as cell phone chargers into the surge suppressor or into an outlet on the same circuit IMPORTANT The treadmill is not compat ible with GFCl equipped outlets and may not be compatible with AFCI equipped outlets Grounded Outlet Grounding Pin A temporary adapter may be used to connect the surge sup pressor to a 2 pole receptacle if a properly grounded outlet is not available The lug or wire extending from the adapter must be connected with a metal screw to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover Some 2 pole receptacle outlet box covers are not grounded Before using an adapter contact a quali fied electrician to determine whether the outlet box cover is grounded The temporary adapter should be used

58. sure that the power cord is plugged in If the power cord is plugged in unplug it wait for five minutes and then plug it back in 38 Remove the key from the console and then reinsert it If the treadmill still will not run please see the front cover of this manual SYMPTOM The console displays remain lit when you remove the key from the console a The console features a display demo mode designed to be used if the treadmill is displayed in a store If the screen shows a preset presenta tion when you remove the key the demo mode is turned on To turn off the demo mode hold down the Stop button for a few seconds If the demo mode is still on see step 6 on page 29 to turn off the demo mode SYMPTOM The displays of the console do not function properly a Remove the key from the console and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD Remove the three 8 x 1 2 Screws 1 and the two 8 x 3 4 Screws 2 Carefully pivot the Motor Hood 65 off Locate the Reed Switch 52 and the Magnet 50 on the left side of the Pulley 49 Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1 8 in 3 mm If necessary loosen the 8 x 3 4 Tek Screw 14 move the Reed Switch slightly and then retighten the Screw Reattach the Motor Hood not shown and run the treadmill for a few minutes to check for a correct speed reading
