Receiving PTY alarm broad casts PTY alarm is a special PTY code for announce ments regarding emergencies such as natu ral disasters When the tuner receives the radio alarm code ALARM appears on the display and the volume adjusts to the A vol ume When the station stops broadcasting the emergency announcement the system re turns to the previous source e An emergency announcement can be can celled by pressing TA You can also cancel an emergency an nouncement by pressing SOURCE BAND ESC A V lt or P ysijbuq Section RDS Using radio text This tuner can display radio text data trans mitted by RDS stations such as station infor mation the name of the currently broadcast song and the name of the artist e The tuner automatically memorises the three latest radio text broadcasts received replacing text from the least recent recep tion with new text when it is received Displaying radio text You can display the currently received radio text and the three most recent radio text 1 Press NEXT until R TEXT appears 2 Press R TEXT to switch to the radio text mode Radio text for the currently broadcasting sta tion is displayed m You can cancel radio text display by pressing BAND ESC m When no radio text is received No text is displayed 3 Press 4 or gt to recall the three most recent radio text Pressing 4 or gt switches between the cur rent and the th

Update CD ROM Updated Navigation CD ROMs are available for purchase from your local Pioneer dealer that includes the most current map and point of interest information Contact your local Pio neer dealer for details en 11 Section INO Before You Start Protecting your unit from theft The front panel can be detached from this product and stored in the protective case pro vided to discourage theft Q Important e Never use force or grip the display and the buttons tightly when removing or attaching e Avoid subjecting the front panel to excessive shocks e Keep the front panel out of direct sunlight and high temperatures Removing the front panel 1 Press OPEN to open the front panel Refer to Navigation unit on page 14 2 Grip the left side of the front panel and pull it gently outward Take care not to grip it tightly or to drop it 3 Put the front panel into the protective case provided for safe keeping Attaching the front panel Replace the front panel by holding it upright to this product and clipping it se curely into the mounting hooks 12 en About the demo mode This product features two demonstration modes One is the reverse mode the other is the feature demo mode e You cannot cancel a demo mode when the front panel is open Q Important The red lead ACC of this product should be connected to a terminal coupled with ignition switch on off operat
