1. s HOME 2 3 e a amp Smart Audio Management Speaker Selectors SSME 140 70 Watt Rus Stereo 6 Zone Speaker Selector and Impedance Matching System SSM4 140 70 Watt rus Stereo 4 Zone Speaker Selector and Impedance Matching System The SSM6 and SSM4 are low profile speaker distribution systems with individual on off selectors for each listening zone The SSM6 distributes a stereo speaker level signal to six stereo listening zones while the SSM4 distributes a stereo speaker level signal to four stereo listening zones Both the SSM6 and SSM4 feature a manually activated power protection circuit switch located on the rear panel activating two pairs of high power resistors two 10 ohm 15 watt resistors per channel wired in parallel providing up to 50 more power handling capability than the competition while maintaining a stable 5 ohm impedance load to ensure amplifier stability Pass through speaker output terminals allow easy connection of additional SSM s for limitless connection possibilities Installation and Connection Procedures The polarity connections for the input and output push type speaker terminals are clearly marked on the rear panel Please connect the speaker cable to the appropriate terminals These terminals will accept up to 12 gauge speaker cable and we highly recommend utilizing at minimum a 16 to 12 gauge speaker cable Note Separate left and right ground paths ensure compatibility with all amplifi2. ers even when bridged Route the speaker cables from each speaker zone and the amplifier to the SSM speaker selector Strip 3 8 insulation from the end of the cable and twist the exposed end to avoid fraying Press the spring loaded lever on the appropriate speaker terminal and insert the stripped end of the cable into the speaker terminal Be sure to observe proper polarity when connecting the speaker cables Release the spring loaded lever to clamp the cable in place Gently pull on the cable to ensure it s secure and properly connected The system is now ready for testing Turn on the sound system and set the amplifier s volume control to a moderate level Sound should be heard from each zone when its button is depressed Please check each zone appropriately including proper left and right connections by activating each zone with the balance adjusted to full left and then to full right Attach the custom die cut labels provided to the buttons of the SSM s referencing each button to an appropriate zone within the installation N ma e on Installation Precautions e Under no circumstances disable the power protection circuit unless your amplifier can handle the combined impedance of all zones activated For example a SSM6 with six pairs of 8 ohm speakers will present the amplifier with a 1 33 ohm load per channel with the power protection circuit switch in the OFF position This may damage your amplifier or ca
