Coffee selection lever Descaling solution to be purchased separately 5 6 ENGLISH PREPARING FOR USE Machine Packagin The original packaging has been designed and constructed to protect the machine during transport We recommend keeping the packaging material for possible future transport Machine Installation E Remove the machine from the packaging pea FJ For best use it is recommended to Choose a safe level surface where there will be no danger of over turning the machine or being injured i Choose a location that is sufficiently well lit clean and near an eas AAA ily reachable socket ane 7 Allow for a minimum distance from the sides of the machine as ae N shown in the illustration e ee 150mm 6 inches 6 inches EJ Remove the water tank lid E Lift the water tank using the handle ENGLISH 7 E Rinse the water tank with fresh water KA Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX level and reinsert it into the machine Make sure it is fully inserted BEB caution Never fill the water tank with warm hot sparkling water or any other liquid as this may cause damage to the water tank and the machine Remove the coffee bean hopper lid EJ Slowly pour the coffee beans into the coffee bean hopper Note Do not pour too many coffee beans into the coffee bean hopper as this will reduce the grinding performance of the machine Ei caution Only coffee beans

6. reminding you to set the lever to the cor rect position ENGLISH 23 Adjusting the Coffee Length The machine allows you to adjust the amount of brewed coffee according to your taste and the size of your cups Each time the 5 EP or button is pressed the machine brews a pre set amount of beverage Each button may be individually programmed for a specific brew setting The following procedure describes how to program the 8 button E Place a cup under the dispensing spout Press and hold the S button until the MEMO icon appears on the display then release the button The machine has now entered programming mode The machine starts brewing coffee Green EJ Press the button as soon as the desired amount of coffee is reached Green Now the button is programmed each time it is pressed the machine will brew the same amount of espresso that was just programmed Note Follow the same procedure to program the other two Epor bever ages You should always use the S button to stop brewing coffee when the desired amount of coffee is reached even when you are programming the other two Epor ge beverages 24 ENGLISH BREWING ESPRESSO Green Green Before brewing espresso make sure that there are no warnings shown on the control panel and that the water tank and coffee bean hopper are filled

Brewing an Espresso Using Coffee Beans El Place 1 or 2 cups under the dispensing spout EJ Push the lever downwards to select the ESPRESSO function EJ To brew an espresso press the button to select the desired aroma m EJ To brew an espresso press the 5 button once This icon will be displayed E To brew two espressos press the button twice consecutively This icon will be displayed Note In this operating mode the machine automatically grinds and doses the correct amount of coffee Brewing two espressos requires two grinding and brewing cycles automatically carried out by the machine ENGLISH 25 al After the prebrewing cycle coffee begins to pour out of the dispensing spout Coffee brewing stops automatically when the set level is reached However it is possible to stop the coffee brewing earlier by pressing the S button Brewing an Espresso Using Pre Ground Coffee This function allows you to use pre ground coffee With the pre ground coffee function you can only brew one coffee at a time HE Push the lever downwards to select the ESPRESSO function Press the button until the display shows the icon for pre ground coffee function Green EJ Lift the pre ground coffee compartment lid and add one measuring scoop of pre ground coffee to the compartment Use only the measuring scoop supplied with the machine Then close the pre ground coff

S button EP Slide the milk carafe dispenser back to the icon E Note After using the milk carafe clean it as described in the Cleaning and Main tenance chapter It is possible to prepare a cappuccino with pre ground coffee Press the button to select pre ground coffee and pour the pre ground coffee into the compartment ENGLISH 35 Adjusting the Cappuccino Length Each time the button is pressed the machine pours a pre set quantity of cappuccino into the cup The machine allows you to adjust the amount of cappuccino brewed ac cording to your taste and the size of your cups EJ Fill the carafe with milk and insert it into the machine FJ Slide the milk carafe dispenser to the right up to the i icon Make sure that the dispensing spout handle is perfectly aligned to the icon EJ When the carafe dispenser is correctly positioned you will hear a CLICK EJ Check that the lever is set to ESPRESSO EJ Place a cup under the dispensing spout 36 ENGLISH CAPPUCCINO Red Green Yellow Green Green al Press and hold the button until the MEMO icon appears on the display Then release the button The machine is now in programming mode E Note If an espresso or a cappuccino is selected with the lever in the wrong posi tion the following icon will be displayed remindi

The machine automatically primes the circuit The machine needs to be descaled Press the 8 button to start the descal ing process Follow the steps described in the Descaling chapter of this START ESG manual If you want to descale later press the oe button to continue using the machine Please note that not descaling your machine will ultimately make it stop working properly In this case repair is NOT covered under your warranty TALC CLEAN 68 ENGLISH Warning Signals Red color 30 30 30 Exx Completely insert the drip tray with the coffee grounds drawer into the ma chine and close the service door Fill the coffee bean hopper and refit the lid The brew group must be inserted into the machine Empty the coffee grounds drawer Wait 5 seconds before reinserting it Set the ESPRESSO or COFFEE selection lever to ESPRESSO within 30 seconds to complete brewing Set the ESPRESSO or COFFEE selection lever to COFFEE within 30 seconds to complete brewing Fill the water tank A beverage has been selected without the coffee bean hopper inner lid on the machine Place the coffee bean hopper lid on the machine within 30 seconds to complete brewing Turn off the machine After 30 seconds turn it on again Try this 2 or 3 times If the machine does not start contact the P
15. Weekly Cleaning of the Brew Group and the Coffee Exit Chute The brew group should be cleaned every time the coffee bean hopper is filled or at least once a week EE Turn off the machine by pressing the I button Wait until the button blinks and unplug the power cord ENGLISH 51 Raise the dispensing spout and remove the drip tray and coffee grounds drawer by pressing the side buttons Only at this time open the service door EJ To remove the brew group press the PUSH button and pull it by the handle Pull it out horizontally without turning it EJ Remove the coffee residues drawer and wash it thoroughly E Clean the coffee exit chute thoroughly with a spoon handle or with another round tipped kitchen utensil 52 ENGLISH al Thoroughly wash the brew group with lukewarm water and carefully clean the upper filter Eg Caution Do not use detergent or soap to clean the brew group Let the brew group air dry thoroughly EJ Thoroughly clean the inside of the machine using a soft dampened cloth EJ Make sure the brew group is in the off position the two reference signs must match If they do no match up proceed as described in steps 10 11 EI Gently pull down the lever until it is in contact with the brew group base and the two reference signs on the side of the brew group match EE Make sure the hook to lock the brew group is in the correct position by firmly

22. fe dispenser This icon is displayed during preheating time required by the machine EE Once the machine stops dispensing water the cleaning is finished EE Slide the milk carafe dispenser back to the icon Remove the milk carafe and empty it 48 ENGLISH Weekly Cleaning of the Machine EE Clean the seat of the drip tray Weekly Cleaning of the Milk Carafe The weekly cleaning is more thorough since all milk residue is removed from the dispenser El Press one of the release buttons at the side to remove the top of the carafe as shown in the figures A or B ENGLISH 49 Remove the lid EJ Lift the dispensing spout to remove it from the top of the carafe The milk carafe dispenser is made up of five parts that must be disassembled Each part is indicated by a capital letter A B C D E as shown in the figure below EJ Remove the suction tube with the fitting A from the milk frother E Remove the fitting B from the suction tube A Detach the lid C from the milk carafe dispenser by pushing downwards while slightly pressing on the sides 50 ENGLISH Disassemble further as shown in the figure EJ Remove the fitting E from the milk frother by pulling it outwards E Clean all the parts thoroughly with lukewarm water Note You can also clean individual parts in the dishwasher E Reassemble the parts following the reverse order
