23. cover ENGLISH 9 Cleaning replacing filters Only wipe the appliance with a moist cloth Always unplug the appliance before you clean or replace the filters Motor Protection Filter Clean the permanent Motor Protection Filter every time you replace the dustbag Remove the dustbag holder with the dustbag Fig 23 Press the filter holder release tab 1 and take the Motor Protection Filter holder out of the appliance 2 Fig 26 To clean the filter shake it over a dustbin Put the clean filter back into the filter holder Fit the two lugs of the filter holder behind the ridge at the bottom to ensure that it fits properly at the top 1 Then press the filter holder home click 2 Fig 27 Place the dustbag holder with the dustbag back into the appliance Super Ultra Clean Air HEPA Filter This appliance is equipped with either the Super Clean Air HEPA Fillter or the Ultra Clean Air HEPA Filter These filters are located in the back of the appliance They are able to remove 99 5 and 99 9 respectively of all particles down to 0 0003mm in size from the outlet air This not only includes normal house dust but also harmful microscopic vermin such as dust mites and their excrements which are well known causes of respiratory allergies Replace the HEPA Filter every six months Open the filter grille Fig 28 Remove the old filter Fig 29 Insert the new filter into the appliance Close the filter grille and push the
24. he spring loaded lock button into the opening in the tube click Fig 4 To disconnect the tube from the handgrip press the spring loaded lock button and pull the handgrip out of the tube Adjust the tube to the length you find most comfortable during vacuuming Press one of the two collars downwards and pull the tube part above the collar upwards or push it downwards Fig 5 Keep the tube away from your face when you extend it The tube is very long Tri Active nozzle EN To connect and disconnect the Tri Active nozzle use the same method as for the tube The Tri Active nozzle is a multi purpose nozzle for carpets and hard floors Fig 6 The side brushes catch more dust and dirt at the sides of the nozzle and allow you to clean better along furniture and other obstacles The opening at the front of the nozzle allows you to vacuum larger particles Fig 7 Hard floor setting push the rocker switch on top of the nozzle with your foot to make the brush strip come out of the housing At the same time the wheel is lifted to prevent scratching and to increase manoeuvrability Fig 8 Carpet setting push the rocker switch again to make the brush strip disappear into the nozzle housing The wheel is lowered automatically Fig 9 Crevice nozzle small nozzle and brush nozzle To connect the crevice nozzle 1 the small nozzle 2 or the brush nozzle 3 use the same method as for the tube Fig 10 Connect the nozzle
25. quid Never suck up flammable substances and do not suck up ashes until they are cold Do not point the hose the tube or any other accessory at the eyes or ears nor put it in your mouth when it is connected to the vacuum cleaner and the vacuum cleaner is switched on When you use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum ashes fine sand lime cement dust and similar substances the pores of the dustbag become clogged As a result the dustbag full indicator will indicate that the dustbag is full Replace the dustbag even if it is not full yet see chapter Replacement Never use the appliance without the Motor Protection Filter This could damage the motor and shorten the life of the appliance Only use Philips s bag paper dustbags ENGLISH 7 The translucent display panel is made of recyclable polycarbonate gt PC ABS lt Electromagnetic fields EMF This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic fields EMF If handled properly and in accordance with the instructions in this user manual the appliance is safe to use according to scientific evidence available today Preparing for use Hose To connect the hose push it firmly into the appliance click Fig 2 To disconnect the hose push the buttons and pull the hose out of the appliance Fig 3 Tri Scopic tube To connect the tube to the handgrip press the spring loaded lock button on the handgrip and insert the handgrip into the tube Fit t
