TUNING DOWN AD or TUNING UP 12 for more than 0 5 seconds Then release this button The frequency on the display 5 now changes continuously until a transmitter of sufficient strength has been found Repeat this procedure if it is not the station of your choice e To tune to weak stations briefly press TUN ING DOWN 41 or TUNING UP 2 as often as is necessary for optimum reception or until you read the correct frequency For FM pull out the telescopic aerial To improve FM reception incline and turn the aerial Reduce its length if the FM signal is too strong very close to a transmitter For AM MW and LW notall versions the set is provided with a built in aerial so the tel escopic aerialis not needed Directthe aerial by turning the whole set e When FM STEREO 4 lights up and DISPLAY 45 indicates STEREO you are receiving a FM stereo transmitter A disturb ing noise due to a weak FM stereo signal can be suppressed by setting the FM STEREO MONO button 8 to FM MONO FM STEREO 19 and STEREO indicated on DISPLAY 5 will then go off and you will hear and record the FM programme in mono e Always switch off the set after use with POWER button 3 RADIO PRESET TRANSMITTERS Twenty presettransmitters can be programmed When tuning to a programmed transmitter the memory location 0 to 19 is indicated in the DISPLAY 5 Programming e Press MEMORY DISPLAY 45 indicates MEMORY e Tunetothe freq

10. am up when the setis taken from a cold into a warm environment Playing a CD is not possible then Do not clean the lens but let the set acclimatize for a while Always pick up the CD by the edge and put it back in its box immediately after use To clean breathe on the CD and wipe it off in a straight line from centre to edge Fig 5 using a soft lint free cloth Cleaning agents may harm the CD Cassette deck To ensure good recording and playback quality clean the parts 4600 indicated in Fig 8 after every 50 hours of operation or on average once a month Open the cassette holder by pressing STOP EJECT Use a cotton bud slightly moistened with alcohol or a special head cleaning fluid Press PAUSE and clean the magnetic heads 8 and the capstan Then press PLAY and clean the rubber pressure roller D Fig 8 After cleaning press STOP EJECT Cleaning of the magnetic heads 6 can also by done by playing a cleaning cassette through once as an ordinary cassette e Remarks The CD player and the cassette decks are fitted with self lubricating bearings which must not be oiled or greased Fingerprints dust and dirt on the apparatus can be removed using a soft clean and slightly damp leather cloth Do not use any cleaning agents since they may damage the cabinet Keep the set batteries CDs and cassettes away from rain moisture sand and exces si
