NiMH AAA cell batteries installed e Fully charged batteries will yield up to 10 hours of light e Batteries will charge when unit is exposed to sunlight Strong direct sunlight will charge the battery faster e Batteries are designed for up to 500 charge cycles If you note reduced battery performance replace batteries e To replace batteries remove the solar panel LED housing cap from clear tube Unscrew the 2 Phillips head screws in cap Please see diagram e Use only NiMH battery cells Do not use Alkaline Lithium or Lithium lon batteries Incorrect batteries may leak or explode e NiMH batteries with less capacity than 600 mAh will yield shorter illumination times You may use batteries with higher than 600 mAh capacity but the extra capacity may not be utilized e Ensure battery polarity is correct Negative pole towards the spring NOTE Unit will charge battery regardless of switch position AUTO OFF switch only controls LED lamp LED lamp will not illuminate when ambient light is too high P3 INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION LIMITED WARRANTY P3 INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION P3 warrants to the original retail purchaser only that its product is free from defects in material or workmanship under the condition of normal use and service for a period of six 6 months from the date of purchase In the event that a defect malfunction or failure occurs or is discovered during the warranty period P3 will repair or replace at i2. 3. astic spike Do not force the tube e Attach the thermometer section by sliding the plastic coupling on the stainless steel tube Do not force the tube or breakage may occur e Unit is shipped with rechargeable batteries in place e Be sure to remove the protective film from the solar panel before first use e For best results allow unit to fully charge before first use Leave unit in direct sunlight for at least two sunny days Leave switch in OFF position factory default position e When ready to use unit push switch to AUTO position Switch is located on the bottom side of the solar panel LED housing cap near the LED light source Please see diagram e When the battery is charged you can test the unit by covering the photocell round sensor on top of unit and observing the LED Lamp illuminate e Unit will charge when exposed to sunlight Do not place unit in the shade or it will not recharge e LED Lamp will automatically turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn Strong ambient light will prevent lamp from turning on e LED Lamp may turn off earlier than dawn if the batteries are not fully charged Batteries may not fully charge on cloudy days or if the unit is in a partially shaded area NOTE Unit will charge battery regardless of switch position AUTO OFF switch only controls LED lamp LED lamp will not illuminate when ambient light is too high Battery e Unit is supplied with 2X quality 600 mAh Nickel Metal Hydride
