POWER KEY CONTROL M gt Si ON OFF 1 MICLEVEL 2 Eco LEVEL Bass TREBLE KARAOKE n Tax MIN 3 D BASS 0 MIC j TX SE550 C 1 Input selector buttons Select the desired input source 1 INPUT SELECTOR buttons Select the desired input source VOLUME button Aup Y down Use this button to adjust the volume level Re EQ button Refer to page 21 S 2 SUR MODE button This button allows you to select a Surround mode This receiver has five Surround modes Select a suitable mode according to the type of music you are listening to the media used and your personal preference The selected surround mode is automatically stored along with the selected source Next time you select the same source again the stored surround mode will be automatically recalled Surround Modes Before using a Surround mode make sure the Speaker Setup parameters have been set refer to page 14 Once the parameters have been set it is not necessary to set them again DOLBY DIGITAL Dolby Digital Surround mode is used to decode media such as DVD discs bearing the 2021 mark and Dolby Digital broadcasts Dolby Digital is a new generation digital audio format for multi channel surround audio Adding to the conventi2. 500022 TE 60 EL 1 E G Setting the Surround mode parameters Midnight Theater If you play a movie at a low volume at night set this parameter to ON to narrow the dynamic range of the sound to make it easier to hear The Midnight Theater function works only with source material that contains necessary Dolby Digital information Press the MIDNIGHT THEATER button during Dolby Digital playback The MIDNIGHT THEATER indicator appears on the display To cancel the MIDNIGHT THEATER function press the MIDNIGHT THEATER button again The Midnight Theater function is available only in Dolby Digi tal Surround mode When you turn off the power the MIDNIGHT THEATER func tion will be turned off Cinema Re Equalization Re Equalization takes the edginess or brightness out of your home cinema sound compensating for the fact that sound mixed for theaters will sound too bright when played back through speak ers in the home environment Press the Re EQ button the Cinema Re Equalizer indicator appears on the display To cancel the Re EQ function press the Re EQ button again The Cinema Re EQ function is available only in Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic Surround and Multi channel input modes LFE Low Frequency Effect Level Attenuation If the bass range is too loud set this parameter to 10 dB
