3. 1 1 In step 4 if you type and confirm an incorrect code the cordless phone beeps and prompts you to type the PIN again If you think you have typed a wrong digit you can delete it by pressing the key In step 6 if you type and confirm a code different from the one Set in step 5 the cordless phone beeps and prompts you to type the PIN code again RESTORE THE DEFAULT PARAMETERS If desired you can restore the default parameters name of cordless phone warning tones ringing vo lume and tune PIN etc as follows Press the upper or lower part of the key until the display shows SETTINGS Press function key F3 The display shows PIN CODE Press the upper or lower part of the key until the display shows RESTORE SETTINGS Press function key F3 The display shows CODE P Type the PIN on the keypad of the cordless phone Then press function key F3 The cordless phone restores the default parameters this operation takes a few seconds At the end of the procedure the cordless phone returns automatically to stand by mode NJ 9 1 i If you can t remember the PIN you can restore the default parameters Proceed as follows Remove the batteries from the cordless phone 2 Keep the key of the cordless phone pressed while you reinsert the batteries in their compartment make sure you respect the battery polarities indicated The display of the cordless phone shows the message

6. lt gt until the display shows RECEPT SET UP RING VOLUME 50 242 Press key The display shows the preset volume level for exam ple 4 RING VOLUME LEVEL To turn the volume up down press the keys To confirm your choice press the key To return the fax machine to its initial stand by mode press the key If you want to move back one function press the key TO ENABLE DISABLE RECOGNITION OF THE RING FREQUENCY In Some countries local telephone companies offer the possibility of assigning the same telephone line two or more numbers corresponding to different users When an incoming call is received a different ring frequency will indicate which user is to answer the call This function is extremely useful at home or in small offices where the same telephone line is shared by more than one person Your fax machine is capable of learning one of these frequencies see the procedure that follows In this way when a call with the specific ring frequency is received the fax machine in PHONE FAX and TAD FAX reception modes prepares exclusively to receive a document This function is particularly useful when associated with silent reception in that the fax machine will only ring if the call is coming from a telephone 1 Press the key The display shows MENU RELEPT SET UP 2 Press the keys 4 until the display shows FENU INSTALLATION 3 Press the key The

SECURITY ACCESS LOCK 2 Press the key The display shows ACCESS LOCK 3 To stop unauthorized users from playing the messages received on the telephone answering device press the lt gt keys A v The display shows ACCESS LOCK YES 4 To confirm the setting press the key 5 To return the fax machine to the initial stand by mode press the key 6 If you want to move back one function press the key OUTGOING MESSAGES AND MEMOS You can record several different types of outgoing mes sages only from the fax machine OGM 1 which has a maximum length of 20 seconds prompt ing the caller to leave a message on the TAD for example You have called the telephone number I m out at the moment You can leave a message after the beep or press the Start button on your fax machine if you want to send a fax Thanks e OGM 2 which has a maximum length of 10 seconds may be recorded if you are out and have selected the TAD FAX reception mode to inform the caller that the answering device cannot receive messages because its memory is full for example I m sorry but can only receive faxes at the moment If you need to speak to me please call back later if you are in but have selected PHONE FAX mode to tell the caller not to hang up for example Please wait MEMOS Voice which have a length that be pro grammed to 30 or 60 seconds for personal memos This

The KY MESSAGES indicator LED stops blinking and will remain on steady PLAY MESSAGES FROM THE CORDLESS PHONE If the telephone answering machine of the fax machine has one or more incoming messages or one or more memos that you have not played in its memory the icon MESSAGES ON THE ANSWERING DE VICE blinks on the display of the cordless phone and the total number of messages recorded including the memos is displayed above the icon If the memory used for incoming messages and memos recorded on the fax machine is full the cordless phone will display the icon To access the function for managing messages or memos press function key F3 The display shows TAN IES SAGES 2 To play only the messages and memos that have not yet been played press function key At this point you can play all the messages that you have not yet played as well as the memos which are recorded in the memory under progressive numbers up to a maximum of 49 starting from the first that has not yet been played While each message is being played the display shows the day and time at which the mes sage was received The cordless phone plays the mes sages and memos one by one with a beep in between them To skip straight to the next message press func tion key and to skip back to the previous message press function key F2 Having played the last message the cordless phone beeps twice and
