1. o Aw ter Conditi b ater CONGITIONS sss scseceincsiecseewstosassendesnesaeeansr esse Hard Water contains minerals that cause a film to develop on dishes the dishwasher tub and can deposit on the mechanical parts of the dishwasher You may first notice this as cloudy glasses To confirm if the film is remov able soak a glass for approximately 5 minutes in undiluted white vinegar Rinse and dry If the film is removed it is probably due to hard water if not removed see Soft Water To correct To remove film from the dishwasher 1 Adjust the detergent amount to the degree of water Try one of the following hardness See pg 6 1 A damp cloth and mild scouring powder 2 Check the water temperature See pg 6 2 Run a Normal cycle with detergent in the MAIN WASH cup only Pour 1 2 cup of white vinegar into 3 Use a rinse aid to improve the sheeting action of the the water in the bottom of the tub after the first fill water See pg 7 4 See page 14 for further information if after following the above guidelines wash results are still not satis factory Soft Water can promote etching if too much detergent is used items are prerinsed or the water temperature is too high Etching is a permanent pitting or eroding of the surface of the glassware The beginning stages can be identified by a rainbow To prevent effect shades of blue purple brown or pink when the glass is held at an angle to the light

8. water is necessary to activate detergent and to break down greasy food soils Alene 2 Options Located on the pads on the left side of the panel Pots amp Pans provides temperature checks in the main wash and final rinse If necessary the cycle is interrupt ed to heat water to the proper temperature the HEAT ING DELAY light is illuminated during this time Use the Pots amp Pans option to aid in removing tough food soils Sani Wash checks the main wash and final rinse tem perature If necessary the cycle is interrupted to heat water to the proper temperature the HEATING DELAY light is illuminated during this time Sani Wash also provides additional heating during dry When the Sani Wash option is selected with the Quick Wash Rinse cycle additional heat is automatically added to the wash The Sani Wash option does NOT add dry time in Quick Wash Rinse Use Sani Wash to aid in the removal of tough more difficult to remove food soils such as starches and fats and to boost drying results Temp Sense ensures proper water temperature when using the Pots amp Pans Normal or Light China cycles If needed the wash or rinse portions of the cycle are extended until a proper water temperature is reached When the wash or rinse portions of the cycle are being extended the HEATING DELAY light is illuminated Use this option if the incoming water temperature is below 120 F 49 C due to other household demands such as showers and

14. et Dry Dishwasher Cleaner according to pack age directions Storage Moving Fill both detergent cups with a fresh scented dishwash er detergent or baking soda and select a Normal cycle Allow the dishwasher to complete the cycle Then turn the water supply off and drain the dishwasher To drain start any cycle as all cycles begin with a drain Listen for the drain to complete then open the door to interrupt the cycle prior to the fill Operate the drain twice to ensure most of the water is removed Last disconnect the electrical supply and prop open the door Dishwasher Exterior Cleaning The front of the dishwasher can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and liquid spray cleaner Do not use any abrasive powders or cleaning pads e Before You Call eeen Check these points to help save you time and money Be sure door is latched securely Be sure the water is turned on Check that the dial pad is properly selected for a cycle e Allow time for select models to drain pause before filling e Check your home s circuit breaker or fuse box e Check inlet hose for a kink Check water valve inlet for sediment and clean if necessary Won t Fill If hooked up to a food waste disposer be sure the knock out is removed from the disposer inlet Be sure the drain hose is elevated at least 32 so water cannot siphon back into the tub Check for a food obstruction in the drain or disposer e Check drain hose

16. gas is explosive If the hot water system has not been used for such a period turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each for sev eral minutes This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas As the gas is flammable do not smoke or use an open flame during this process Do not wash plastic items unless marked dish washer safe or the equivalent For plastic items not so marked check the manufacturer s recom mendations Do not tamper with controls Always remove the door to the washing compart ment when removing an old dishwasher from ser vice or discarding it Use caution when unloading the dishwasher Dishes will be hot if unloaded shortly after a cycle has completed Save These Instructions E Loading seeeseeeererseesererreresererererereserereerereserertn Before You Start e Don t Prerinse Simply scrape off any bones or large food particles The disposer in your dishwasher will handle the occasional pits fruit seeds and pop corn These items will be chopped into small pieces during the drain and removed with the drain water You may hear a chopping noise during the drain This is normal e If connected to a food waste disposer make certain the disposer is empty before starting the dishwash er This allows proper draining e Scrape off large amounts of tomato based food soils see page 12 General Recommendations e Place all items in the racks so the

19. laundry Heated Dry ON improves drying results by turning on the heating element during the dry portion of the cycle Heated Dry OFF turns the heating element off during the dry portion of the cycle Towel drying of some items may necessary with this selection and more moisture may be noticed on the dishwasher interior Note With either dry option it is normal to notice vapor coming out of the vent area Ke operating e AEA E on elie Starting The Dishwasher After loading the dishwasher and adding detergent set the control knob to the desired cycle and press the appropriate option button s FJ Run the water from the hot water tap to clear the line of cold water before starting Press the door until it latches The cycle will begin with a drain prior to fill Adding a Forgotten Item For best cleaning the forgotten item should be added early in the cycle E Unlatch the door Wait for the water circulation to stop Open the door and add the item Close and latch the door 5 The cycle resumes automatically Note Water heating and dry options can be used separately or together Indicator Lights Delay Start glows when this option is selected The light stays on until the start of the cycle Heating Delay glows to indicate that the cycle is being extended to heat water to the proper temperature The location of the 22 symbol around the knob corre sponds to the heating delay portions of the cycle
