3. steel cleaner To clean hood fans turn on high speed and spray a mild degreaser into the fans Liquid residue will accumulate in the oil containers located at the back of the safety screen These slide easily in and out for cleaning The round transparent holders attached to the fan cover can be unscrewed turn counterclockwise for cleaning To replace just screw back in turning clockwise until it clicks mto place To clean the fan safety screen remove the screw leave in a safe place and slide safety screen out Both oil containers and fan safety screen should be washed with warm soapy water and completely dry before returning in place Both are top rack dishwasher safe CAUTION Never put your hand into the area housing the fan while the fan is operating For the most efficient operation of your range hood clean the range hood surface fans and optional filters regularly CAUTION Drain oil holders before oil can overflow Changing the Light Bulb 1 Make sure all control switches are off and range hood 16 unplugged CAUTION Wait until light is cool to the touch before changing 2 Use a flat head screwdriver to pop out the protective covering 3 Gently pull out the defective halogen light and discard Plug in new halogen light 12V 20W max 4 Replace protective cover 5 Plug in range hood Keyhole 12V20W Troubleshooting Guide Problem Solution Light does not turn on e Check power 15 plugged in e Check lig
4. the black power wire to the black wire and the white power wire to the white wire located in the electrical wiring compartment Align any frayed strands or conductors Screw on conductors push wires firmly into connectors when starting Stop when the bottom of the connector reaches conductor Follow all codes 4 Plug into electrical outlet Turn on power and check operation of fans and light White Wire Neutral Black Wire Power Fig 7 Green Wire Ground Congratulations your KOBE range hood 16 ready to use OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS This KOBE hood 15 equipped with a 10 second time delay operation four control buttons located on the front of the hood powerful centrifugal turbine impellers with safety screen covers bright 12 volt 20 watts halogen lights and 4 oil containers The four control buttons from left to right are the Light Control the Speed Control cycles through Low Medium High QuietMode alternate Speed Control cycles through Low QuietMode High Medium and the Power Control buttons Turn On 1 Press Power Control button If another control button is not pressed within 10 seconds power will turn off automatically 2 Press either Speed Control button once will start on Low speed for fan control See Fig 4 3 Press Speed Control button to cycle from QuietMode through high speed See Fig 4 4 Press Light Control button to turn light on Turn Off 1 Press Power Control button on

ITH ANY SOLID STATE SPEED CONTROL DEVICE INSTALLING THE RANGE HOOD Keep all packing materials for return or exchange Temporarily wire the hood to test for proper operation before installing Before installing please peel protective film off the hood first if any NOTE The recommended distance from range hood bottom to top of the cooking surface is between 28 30 Fig la Fig 1b Fig lc WARNING As the hood is heavy we strongly recommend using all 8 mounting holes to install the hood Installation may require more than 1 person For Mounting on a Cabinet with a Flush Bottom 1 If you need to move the cooking range to work on the cabinet turn off the power for an electric range at the main electrical box SHUT OFF THE GAS BEFORE MOVING A GAS RANGE 2 To make an electrical line access opening please refer to section Electrical Power Line Access 3 Use 1 wood screws for mounting the hood Puncture the eight indented mounting holes Measure amp create access opening for electrical wires under the cabinet 4 a For top venting Cut rectangle opening required for 6 7 or 3 X 10 duct Remove temporary plastic vent cover on the top of the hood Replace with the plastic multi duct exhaust vent piece that came with the hood Cut along the indented outline for the size of the duct opening that you need Fig 2 Fasten plastic multi duct exhaust vent piece with the raised surface facing outward

8. back onto the top of the hood See Fig 2 qo 6 Fig 2 Multi Duct Exhaust Base included Remove Temporary vent cover b For rear venting Unscrew the rectangular plastic vent portion at the back of the hood Fig 4 Turn the vent piece over so that the flat surface is facing you Cut along the indented outline until there is a 3 4 X 10 opening Fasten plastic vent piece with the raised surface facing outward back onto the hood a g SU Fig 4 Fig 5 Rear Venting 5 Remove bottom panel amp carefully place aside 6 Take the hood place electrical power line through access opening Fig 1b and use eight 1 wood screws for mounting the hood Fig le CAUTION MAKE SURE THE HOOD IS SECURE BEFORE RELEASING 7 Replace bottom casing 8 Slide each oval oil container into the oil container slots at the back of the safety screen Fig 5 9 Finally place a round oil container with the three prongs into the larger holes in the specially made openings in the center of the screen amp turn clockwise until it snaps into place Do the same for the other round oil container Fig 6 For Mounting on a Cabinet with a Recessed Bottom 1 If you need to move the cooking range to work on the cabinet turn off the power for an electric range at the main electrical box SHUT OFF THE GAS BEFORE MOVING A GAS RANGE 2 Measure the space under the cabinet between the inside front edge and in
