3. transition from long shot to close up Once the close up is achieved continue shooting to develop your story interest Your picture quality will be even better if you use a tripod When shooting in telephoto position for extreme close ups use of the tripod insures the steadiest pictures da Ak P PHE O gaie sats CdS ELECTRIC EYE The new CdS Behind the lens system using a mercury battery is the ultimate Electric Eye The sensitive CdS exposure setting cell which is located in the lens system sees exactly the same light as the lens sees and automatically sets exposure accordingly The camera is equipped with a built in Type A filter which is always in position during outdoor pho tography to provide the proper A S A American Standards Association setting of ASA 25 It is not necessary to change any settings on the camera whether shooting indoor or outdoor scenes When using the Keystone Sun Gun accessory for indoor photography the Type A filter is automatically moved out of position when the Sun Gun is screwed in to the mounting hole on top of camera This automatically provides a setting of ASA 40 CAUTION If a separate light bar of flood lights are used it is necessary to manually move the Type A filter out of position A special thumbscrew is packed with each camera Insert thumbscrew into threaded hole on top of camera see H Page 2 and turn clockwise until fully seated The setting wil

5. ge pressing a pin in the cartridge chamber When you have finished with a cartridge and take it out of camera Mercury Battery is automatically disconnected from the Electric Eye system INSTALLING PENLITE BATTERIES Press Battery Cover Release Button to open Motor Battery Cover Install four 4 penlight batteries as shown in the picture below Note the diagram inside cover showing the proper way to install batteries Press Battery Test Button immediately after inserting the batteries The needle points to the blue area if all 4 batteries are porperly inserted The positive and negative indications are marked on each battery We recommend using AA type Manganese Alkaline Batteries MALLORY DURACELL MN 1500 Other type AA cells such as zinc carbon or mercury may also be used CAUTION Remove batteries if camera is to be stored for any length of time To check the strength of batteries press Battery Test Button see picture As long as red needle points to blue area batteries are satisfactory If however the needle points to red area batteries should be replaced COVER RELEASE BUTTON BATTERY TEST BUTTON 7 10 Ti HAND SCREW PISTOL GRIP The Keystone Pistol Grip is an added con venince designed not only to support your camera but also minimize movement while taking movies This is particularly important when using telephoto position Install the Pistol Grip to the bottom of camera by turning
6. igger Replace lens cap when camera is not in use to prolong the life of mercury battery FH OOMNATAWN L m pa CAUTION As with all movie cameras panning is not recommended especially in the telephoto posi tion However when following a subject as a child at play your camera will automatically expose correctly even if you should pan or movie camera during a scene If panning is done hold camera steady and pan as slowly as possible REFLEX VIEWFINDER AND ZOOM LENS FILM RUN INDICATOR With the new Keystone ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVE camera it is no longer necessary to wind a motor to run the camera Just squeeze operating trigger and the ELEC TRIC MOTOR DRIVE allows uninterrupted operation of camera The reflex zoom viewfinder gives through the lens viewing which automatically gives you the same field of view as the lens gt sees If light is insufficient or too bright for proper exposure a red warning signal will appear in upper warning zone above viewfinder image 1 THE F1 8 ZOOM UNIVERSAL FOCUS LENS Your Keystone F1 8 zoom Universal Focus Lens eliminates the necessity of setting lens focus as you shoot at any distance from camera to subject within a range of 6 feet to infinity even in all lens positions from wide angel to telephoto Because your Zoom lens can be set at any point within its 9 6 mm to 24 mm range this gives the same versatility achieved by professional photographers and TV camera

8. men when zooming in the subject for dramatic close up shots or zooming away for wid angle shots Since the K 715P viewfinder gives through the lens viewing you always see what the lens sees You may select your scene quickly by merely framing the subject in the viewfinder exactly as you want it Turn the Zoom manual Lever for making this picture size adjustment TO ADJUST EYEPIECE The K 715P camera has an adjust to your vision eyepiece To obtain proper focus turn manual Zoom Lever to telephoto select an object at least 50 feet away and while viewing through the eyepiece turn it until this object is in sharp focus to your eye ZOOMING THE LENS MANUALLY Your Keystone f1 8 zoom lens enables you to take scenes from normal to wide angle or telephoto with out changing lenses or moving from your picture taking location When using various positions of the lens hold the camera firmly and move the zoom lever slowly A tripod is recommended for smooth effects especially in the telephoto position AUTO ZOOMING Hold the camera firmly in the right hand and squeeze operating trigger to start camera While the camera is running press down on the auto zoom button to either the telephoto or wide angle position Your lens will automatically and smoothly zoom under power in that direction Note While auto zooming do not touch manual zoom tever Use the zooming action sparingly It is good movie technique to use zoom as a
9. over Remove purchased film cartridge from protective envelope Save envelope and box for packing cartridge for processing after exposure Insert cartridge into camera as shown in Fig 1 making certain that the Cartridge Registration Pin is lined up with the recess on cartridge Depress rear of cartridge as shown in Fig 2 Close the cover by pushing it lightly The Film Counter points to S starting position The number pointed out by the Film Counter Needle is the number of feet of exposed film When the Film Counter points to E End and Film Run Indicator visible under the viewfinder image stops moving the film is completely exposed Remove cartridge and send for processing TRIAL FILM It is recommended when using the camera for the first time that only one film be exposed and developed After projection you will have an opportunity to study the results of your first filming so that you can make corrections and improvements in your filming technique If there are any questions we suggest you take your film to your dealer who will be glad to make recommendations for improvements OPERATING THE CAMERA Remove the lens cap Install pistol grip Page 11 Install mercury battery Page 9 Install penlite batteries Page 10 Check penlite battery strength Page 10 Load film cartridge into camera Page 4 Adjust Viewfinder Eyepiece Page 5 Frame subject in viewfinder Page 5 Hold camera steady Squeeze operating tr
