L CAUTION SPEAKER IMPEDANCE 6 160 Speaker cord Vinyl covered wire not supplied If cords are covered with insulation twist the core of speaker Speaker the cord at the end of each cord then remove the insulation 2 Connect the AM loop antenna to the AM LOOP 1 1f cords are covered with insulation twist the core terminals as illustrated of the cord at the end of each cord then remove the insulation 3 Turn the AM loop antenna until you have the best reception 2 Hold the clamp of the speaker terminal To connect an outdoor AM antenna 3 Insert the end of the speaker cord to the terminal When reception is poor connect a single vinyl covered Match the polarity of the speaker terminals Red to wire to the AM EXT terminal and extend it horizontally red and black to black Keep the AM loop antenna connected A 4 Release the finger from the clamp bores better reception of both FM and AM s Wi s s i Make sure the antenna conductors do not touch any other terminals and connecting cords Keep the antennas away from metallic parts of the unit connecting cords and the AC power cord To remove the speaker grilles The speaker grilles are removed as the illustration below Projections Speaker grille To remove the speaker grille inserting your fingers at the top of the speaker grille pull towards you Then pull the bottom towards you

The sampling frequency rate converter built in the CD Recorder allows you to record a digital source having sampling frequency fs of 32 kHz 44 1 kHz or 48 kHz by converting the fs of the source signals into 44 1 kHz required fs to record on CD Recorder When the sampling frequency converter is turned OFF digital signals are sent to CD Recorder bypassing the sampling frequency converter without conversion Normally set it to ON Initial setting at the factory Only when you record dts CD or HDCD signals coming through the LINE DIGITAL IN terminal turn off the sampling frequency rate converter To turn off Converter follow the procedure below On the remote control ONLY 1 Press MENU repeatedly until CONVERTER appears in the main display items appear as follows TRACK ERASE DISC ERASE UNFINALIZE TRACK SKIP JAUTO TRACK gt TRACK SPACE gt CONVERTER Canceled back to the beginning 2 Press SET The current setting for Converter appears Ex When Converter is activated initial setting 3 Press gt gt P or lt lt lt lt to select CONVERTER OFF then press ENTER To activate Converter repeat steps 1 to 2 and select CONVERTER ON then press ENTER in step 3 41 Recording Skip Marks onto a CD R CD RW Erasing Tracks Only for CD RW Before finalizing a disc you can record a
7. 4 Power Cord Protection Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them paying particular attention to cords at plugs convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the product 5 Ventilation Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation To ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating these openings must not be blocked or covered Do not block the openings by placing the product on a bed sofa rug or other similar surface Do not place the product in a built in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventila tion is provided or the manufacturer s instructions have been adhered to 6 Wall or Ceiling Mounting The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer ANTENNA INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1 Outdoor Antenna Grounding If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the product be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static charges Article 810 of the National Electrical Code ANSI NFPA 70 provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure grounding of the lead in wire to an antenna discharge unit size of grounding conductors location of antenna discharge unit connection to grounding electrod
