1. 3. 3 EN O TV Multi Brand Remote Control TheVCR s remote control can control several functions on JVC remote control TVs and on the brands of remote control TVs listed below The default setting is JVC code 01 1 2 3 TURN ON THE TV Turn the power on using the TV s remote control SET TV BRAND CODE Refer to the chart in the left column W hile holding down TV on the VCR s remote control press MBR SET and enter your TV s brand code using the NU MBER keys then press STO P Follow the example shown below TheTV s power should go off If it does try other operations step 3 Once you have set the remote control to operate the TV you don t have to repeat this step until you replace your remote control s batteries e PANASONIC has two codes If the TV does not function with one code try entering the other O PERATE TV First while holding down TV press the corresponding button POWER TV CH TV VCR TV VOL NU MBER keys For some brands of TV you must press ENTER after having pressed the NUMBER keys NOTE Depending on the type of TV there may be cases where some or all functions cannot be operated using the remote control TV BRAND NAME BRAND CODE Jvc 01 MAGNAVOX 02 MITSUBISHI 03 PANASONIC 04 11 RCA 05 SHARP 06 SONY 07 TOSHIBA 08 ZENITH 09 HITACHI 10 SAM SUNG D SANYO 13 SEARS 13

NOTES e Insert editing is not possible with cassettes whose safety tab has been removed e In insert editing the recording speed SP EP is determined by the previous recording to be replaced If the previous recording s speed changes within a single edit the inserted picture will be distorted at the switching point e As small portion of the recording which precedes an insert edit may become erased 56 EN Audio Dubbing Audio cable Audio component CD player etc NOTES e When monitoring the sound during Audio Dubbing the normal soundtrack is automatically selected If you wish to hear the Hi Fi or mixed sound Hi Fi Normal soundtracks refer to the Select The Soundtrack section c pg 29 and select the soundtrack you wish to hear e Audio dubbing stops automatically when the counter reaches 0 00 00 and the VCR enters the Play mode Check the counter reading before dubbing e Audio dubbing cannot be performed on a cassette that has had its record safety tab removed e When playing back an audio dubbed tape refer to the Select The Soundtrack section c pg 29 to select the soundtrack you wish to hear e Picture may be distorted during Audio Dubbing Pause e t may be unlawful to record or play back copyrighted material without the consent of the copyright owner EDITING cont Audio dubbing replaces
