13. turn the projector back on if desired USING THE PROJECTOR This section describes how to use and make adjustments to the projector It also provides a reference to the keypad and remote buttons and the options available from the on screen menus Adjusting the Image To focus the image rotate the focus ring Figure 7 until the image is clear To zoom the image rotate the zoom ring This adjusts the image size without affecting focus Turn the ring in the Wide direction to make the image larger and in the Tele direction to make the image smaller zoom ring focus ring FIGURE 7 Focus ring and zoom ring The projector is equipped with self locking quick release eleva tor feet Figure 8 To raise the projector Lift the front of the projector and lift the feet lock latches on both sides of the projector Figure 8 2 Raise the projector to the height you want then release the latches to lock the elevator feet into position If necessary turn the feet to fine tune the position and tilt 12 foot latch FIGURE 8 Adjusting the height of the projector Keystone Adjustment Use this feature to adjust the image vertically and make a squarer image Press the keystone up down button on the remote or select Key stone in the Screen menu see page 16 for details on the menu The message Keystone appears 2 Press the keystone up button or the point up button to reduce the upper part of

15. 5 minutes before you open the lamp module door Never extract the lamp module while the projector is operating 36 FIGURE 15 Removing the air filters 3 Clean the filters with a brush 4 Replace the filters being sure they are fully inserted Replacing the Projection Lamp The Lamp Replacement indicator lights yellow when the lamp needs to be replaced You can order new lamp modules from your InFocus dealer See Accessories on page 44 for informa tion Follow these steps to replace the projection lamp Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord 2 Wait 45 minutes to allow the projector to cool thoroughly 3 Invert the projector on a soft flat surface then remove the screw on the lamp cover and lift the cover off FIGURE 16 Removing the lamp cover 4 Remove the two screws on the outside of the module then grasp the handle and pull the module out Figure 17 Dispose of the lamp module in an environmentally proper manner FIGURE 17 Removing the lamp module WARNING Be extremely careful when removing the lamp module In the unlikely event that the bulb ruptures small glass fragments may be generated The lamp mod ule is designed to contain these fragments but use caution when removing the lamp module CAUTION Never operate the projector with the lamp door open or removed This disrupts the air flow and causes the projector to overheat 37 WARNING Do not d

44. ttings tab 3 Verify that the Desktop area is set to 1280x1024 or less Problem Color or text not being projected eYou might need to adjust the brightness up or down until the text is visible Refer to Brightness on page 22 for more infor mation Problem The screen resolution is not right Make sure the computer s video card is set for a resolution of no greater than 1280x1024 Problem Image isn t centered on the screen Move the projector to reposition the image Reposition the image using the menu Refer to H Position V Position on page 20 Be sure the projector is at a 90 degree angle to the screen Problem Image is too wide or narrow for screen Adjust the zoom or projector placement Adjust the resolution of your video card if it s greater than 1280x1024 Problem Image is out of focus Turn the projection lens to focus the image Make sure the projection screen is at least 4 6 feet 1 8 m from the projector Check the projection lens to see if it needs cleaning Problem Image and menus are reversed left to right Rear projection mode is probably turned on Turn Rear off in the Screen menu The image should immediately return to for ward projection See Rear on page 33 Problem the projector displays vertical lines bleeding or spots Adjust the brightness See Brightness on page 22 Check the projection lens to see if it needs cleaning Problem no sound e Adjust volume
