10. restore the file from previous version e Fast and reliable Disk to disk backup is a fast secure and reliable medium It offers near continuous data protection in much less time than tape backups Use scenarios Depending on the needs of your business you can configure the DP Storage Server for use in a local area network LAN environment or for use across a wide area network WAN environment In both cases the DP Storage Server provides end users with the ability to restore data across the network without the intervention of a system administrator The following figures show two example deployment scenarios Figure 1 shows a typical DP Storage Server deployment in a small to medium business environment In this example the DP Storage Server either an HP ProLiant DL100 G2 ML310 G3 or DL380 G4 provides backup services and snapshot capability for local LAN attached file servers 18 Overview Snapshot image of file servers End user restore 3TB 6TB and 9TB servers only 10693 Figure 1 Small to medium business environment Figure 2 shows a typical DP Siorage Server deployment in a centralized branch office environment with file servers connected remotely through a WAN Note that in this scenario the DP Storage Server could physically reside in a centralized location and take snapshots of file servers in branch offices worldwide HP Proliant Data Protection Storage Server user guide 19 Fil
