SKU 92500 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 PAGE 6 EXTENSION CORDS 1 Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord 2 As the distance from the supply outlet increases you must use a heavier gauge extension cord Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a seri ous drop in voltage resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage See Table A 3 The smaller the gauge number of the wire the greater the capacity of the cord For example a 14 gauge cord can carry a higher current than a 16 gauge cord See Table A 4 When using more than one extension cord to make up the total length make sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required See Table A 5 If you are using one extension cord for more than one tool add the nameplate am peres and use the sum to determine the required minimum cord size See Table A 6 If you are using an extension cord outdoors make sure it is marked with the suffix W A W in Canada to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use T Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good electrical condition Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified electri cian before using it 8 Protect your extension cords from sharp objects excessive heat and damp or wet areas NAMEPLATE EXTENSION CORD LENGTH AMPERES at full load 25 Feet 50 Feet 75 Feet 100 Feet 150 Feet e2. Power Switch 1 of the Laminator is in its OFF position the Power Cord 2 is unplugged from its electrical outlet and the unit has completely cooled before performing any inspection maintenance or cleaning procedures Before each use Inspect the general condition of the Laminator Check for mis alignment or binding of moving parts damaged electrical wiring cracked or broken parts and any other condition that may affect its safe operation If abnormal noise or vibration occurs have the problem corrected before further use Do not use damaged equipment To clean Use a clean cloth and a mild detergent Do not use solvents Do not immersed any part of the Laminator in liquids To replace the External Fuse 8 A blown Fuse is typically the cause if the Laminator does not turn on even though it is plugged in to its electrical outlet and the Power Switch 1 is turned to its ON position To check or replace the Fuse first unplug the electrical cord and turn Power Switch OFF Then unscrew and remove the Fuse Cap to expose the Fuse Remove the Fuse and replace it with a 3 15A 250V Glass Fuse not included Then replace the Fuse Cap See Assy Diagram All maintenance service and repairs not listed in this manual are only to be at tempted by a qualified technician SKU 92500 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 PAGE 10 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY THE MANUFACTURER AND OR DISTRIBUTOR H

7. e sure the Power Switch is off before plugging in Plugging in laminating equipment with the Power Switch on invites accidents Do not overreach Keep proper footing and balance at all times Proper footing and balance enables better control of the Laminator in unexpected situations Use eye and skin protection Always wear ANSI approved safety goggles Wear fire resistant work gloves to protect from accidental burns TOOL USE AND CARE Do not force the laminating equipment Use the correct equipment for your application The correct equipment will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed Do not use the Laminator if the Power Switch does not turn it on or off Any equipment that cannot be controlled with the Power Switch is dangerous and must be replaced Disconnect the Power Cord Plug from its electrical outlet before making any adjustments changing accessories or storing the Laminator Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the equipment accidentally Make sure the Laminator has completely cooled before touching it and stor ing it Store idle laminating equipment out of reach of children and other untrained persons Laminating equipment is dangerous in the hands of untrained users SKU 92500 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 PAGE 3 Maintain laminating equipment with care Do not use damaged equipment Tag damaged equipment Do not use until repaired Check for
8. n result in the risk of electric shock Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool Never remove the grounding prong from the plug Do not use the tool if the power cord or plug is damaged If damaged havet epaired by a service facil ity before use If the plug will not fit the outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician GROUNDED TOOLS TOOLS WITH THREE PRONG PLUGS ih Tools marked with Grounding Required have a three wire cord and three prong grounding plug The plug must be connected to a properly grounded outlet If the tool should electrically malfunction or break down grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user reduc Xe ing the risk of electric shock See 3 Prong Plug CD and Outlet 2 The grounding prong in the plug is connected 3 Prong Plug and Outlet through the green wire inside the cord to the grounding system in the tool The green wire in the cord must be the only wire connected to the tools grounding system and must never be attached to an electrically live terminal See 3 Prong Plug and Outlet 3 Your tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances The plug and outlet should look like those in the following illustration See 3 Prong Plug and Outlet
9. rators There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded Do not expose laminating equipment to rain or wet conditions Water entering electrically powered equipment will increase the risk of electric shock The Lamina tor is intended for indoor use only Do not abuse the Power Cord Never use the Power Cord to carry the Lamina tor or pull the Plug from an outlet Keep the Power Cord away from heat oil sharp edges or moving parts Replace damaged Power Cords immediately Damaged Power Cords increase the risk of electric shock SKU 92500 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 PAGE 4 10 11 12 13 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES Maintain labels and nameplates on the Laminator These carry important infor mation If unreadable or missing contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement Always place the Laminator on a dry flat level sturdy non flammable work surface capable of supporting the weight of the Laminator and any additional accessories Make sure to place the Laminator in a location that is out of reach of children Never place objects on top of the Laminator Always check to make sure the Cooling Vents on top of the Laminator are not obstructed Turn off the Laminator and unplug it from its electrical outlet before removing any jammed paper or film The laminating Film not included must always be approximately 1 4 longer and wider than the objects being laminated Use a larger
10. reen LED Light 4 illuminates indicating the Laminator is ready to use See Figure D 5 Place the object to be laminated i e paper card etc between the two layers of laminating film and center the object on the laminating film 6 Adjust the Adjustable Front Guide 6 according to the width of the object being laminated See Figure D SKU 92500 For technical questions please call 1 800 444 3353 PAGE 9 Make sure the sealed edge of the laminating film is inserted first into the Lamina tor to avoid jamming Keep hands and fingers clear of the Adjustable Front Guide 6 Once inserted into the Laminator the laminating object will be automatically drawn into the Laminator and ejected from the Rear Guide Platform 7 To avoid pos sible accidental burns make sure to wear safety gloves not included when first removing the laminating object from the Rear Guide Platform See Assy Diagram NOTE For best results Set a higher temperature if the laminated object appears milky white cloudy or crumpled vertically Set a lower temperature if the laminated object appears crumpled horizontally or bubbled When finished laminating turn the Power Switch 1 to its OFF position and unplug the Laminator from its electrical outlet Allow the Laminator to completely cool Then store the unit in a dry dust free location out of reach of children See Figure D INSPECTION MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING WARNING Make sure the
