1. 12 Direct Buttons 113 A M Audio Mode Button LOUD Loudness Button POWER Button FUNC Function Button in the Radio Mode In the CD Mode This illustration shows model DRB3475 The front panel for other models might have slightly different designs Selector Operation ALPHA TOUCH CONTROLLER The a selector enables you to operate main functions of each mode with a single finger Read through the operating procedures of the a selector first and then read the operating explanations for each mode Note The ALPHA TOUCH CONTROLLER is called a selector in this owner s manual 1 Put your index finger on the a selector 2 To select the up down direction amp F or the left right direction lt 4 D gt move the a selector to the corresponding direction This a selector s operation is mainly used when operating the functions listed below e Adjusting the volume e Tuning and selection of radio stations e Adjustment of audio functions Note s Do nat try to rotate the a selector or apply unneces sary force This may result in damage or breakdown of the o selector control General Operations A CAUTION Be sure to reduce the volume level before shutting off the ignition key or turning the units power off The unit remembers its last volume setting and may impair your hearing or cause damage to the unit when turned on at a loud volume setting

Do not use any solvents such as cormmercially available cleaners anti static spray or thinner to clean compact discs Do nat use compact discs that have large scratches are misshaped or cracked etc Use of such discs will cause misoperation or damage Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight or any heat source e Do not use commercially available CD protection shaets or discs equipped with stabilizers etc Thase may gat caught in the intemal mechanism and damage the disc

The clock is displayed when the ignition key is turned to the ACC accessory or IGN ignition on positions even if the power to the unit is off In some cars the clock display may momentari ly disappear when the ignition key is turned to the START starter engage position The dis play will reappear after the engine has started and the ignition key is released to the IGN iani tian an position Turning en off the power Note Use caution while operating the unit for long periods of time without running the car s engine Draining the car s battery will prevent you from starting the car and may possibly shorten the life of the battery 1 Press the POWER button 14 2 The illumination and display on the unit light up The unit remembers its last operation made and will automatically switch to display that mode 3 Press and hold the POWER button f for 1 second or longer to turn off the power to the unit Selecting a mode 1 Press the FUNC button 14 to change the mode of operation 2 The mode changes in the following order Radia mode CD mode Radio mode Adjusting the Volume Select up or down to increase or decrease using the a selector 2 Selecting up or down button and holding for 1 second or longer on the o selector 2 contin uously increase or decrease the volume respectiveiy Adjusting the audio mode use the a selector Press the A M button 13 to select the adjust ment mode E
