8. ation system which satisfies OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable standards of Underwriters Laboratories Inc the Canadian Standard Association and the National Electrical Code Double insulated tools may be used in 2 either of the 120 volt outlets shown in the preceding illustration see Outlets for 2 prong plug extension cords Grounded 1 tools require a three wire extension cord Double Insulated tools can use either a two or three wire extension cord As the distance from the supply outlet 2 increases you must use a heavier gauge extension cord Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage see table a The smaller the gauge number of the 3 wire the greater the capacity of the cord For example a 14 gauge cord can carry a higher current than a 16 gauge cord see table a When using more than one extension 4 cord to make up the total length make sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required see table a If you are using one extension cord for 5 more than one tool add the nameplate amperes and use the sum to determine the required minimum cord size see table a If you are using an extension cord 6 outdoors make sure it is marked with the suffix W A W in Canada to indicate it is acceptable for outdoor use Page 7 For technical ques

11. d while working general Operating instructions Plug Power Cord 53 into working outlet 1 Slide the Forward Reverse Switch 54 2 to the correct position for the current job For drilling clockwise rotation slide the Switch to the right To rotate Chuck in a counterclockwise direction slide the Forward Reverse Switch to the left See Figure 2 Figure 2 Forward Reverse Switch 54 Trigger 55 Lock Button 56 Forward Reverse Switch positioned to this side indicates reverse bit rotation 3 Verify bit is securely locked in Chuck Press Trigger 55 to activate To 4 increase variable drilling speed continue pressing down on Trigger 55 Decreasing pressure on Trigger will slow the drilling speed Warning 5 Use both hands during use For controlled depth drilling loosen 6 Auxiliary Handle and slide Depth Gauge into gauge slot and re tighten Handle The Depth Gauge has two sets of markings on opposite faces of the gauge One is in half inch increments and the other in 10 mm increments increments are not precise values only general guides nOte 7 Depth Gauge length may not be adequate for all drill bits used Insert bit and tighten the chuck Loosen 8 Auxiliary Handle place tip of bit against a solid hard surface and extend Gauge until against same surface Determine required hole depth and retract Gauge accordingly Tighten Auxiliary Handle To switch betwe
