CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIP BREAKER FOR THE CIRCUIT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON 18 70 84 CAUTION MOUNT WITH THE LOWEST MOVING PARTS AT LEAST 2 5 METRES ABOVE FLOOR OR GRADE LEVEL ATTENTION INSTALLER DE SORTE QUELES PIECES INFERIEURES SOIENT A AU MOINS 2 5 METRES AU DESSUS DU PLANCHER OU DU SOL P N 4843010 REV B MAROOPDG MOUNTING RECOMMENDATI ONS Before mounting your Casablanca fan read the following helpful recommendations The location of the fan air circulation and fan size are all important factors to consider before installation Location Ceiling fans have practical uses in almost every room in your home We suggest you follow these mount mg recommendations as you decide where to install your Casablanca fan For safety reasons the fan blades must be a minimum of 7 above the floor Do not locate the fan in a doorway or above a swinging door In any installation the tips of the blades must be at least 18 from the wall in order to provide sufficient clearance for the blades In bedrooms fans work best when mounted above the foot of the bed pool tables be sure to provide plenty of clearance to avoid damage from pool cues In low ceiling locations our optional Low Ceiling Adaptor LCA available at extra cost can be used to gain 3 2 In kitchens be sure to allow for open cupboard doors to clear the fan

BLUE BLACK 3 way switch Connect this wire to the remaining rth STRIPE y 32 WITH black white striped wire on the W 32 control Se WHITE S pall cure this splice with a wire nut END 5 Remove the two remaining wires from the 3 way OF n switch Connect one of these wires to a black wire LINE LINE on the W 32 control Secure the splice with a wire BLACK rs e nut The remaining wire is to be connected to the WHITE BLACK BLACK other black wire on the W 32 Secure the splice STRIPE COMES Ses with a wire nut 6 Install the W 32 in the wall box with the two long screws provided 120V AC 7 Install the wall plate with the two short color BLACK matched screws provided 8 Installation of the second W 32 control is identi cal Repeat steps 1 through 7 NOTE If wall control operation is reversed fan switch controls lights and light switch controls fan turn off the power at the breaker or fuse panel then swap the two W 32 black white stripe wires Inteli Touch INTELI TOUCH OPERATION POWER The button is normally left in the on position Always turn the power off during cleaning or servicing the fan and during thunderstorms It is also used to exit or enter additional programs POWER must be left on to retain a previously set fan speed or light level INTELI TOUCH OPERATION SPEED CONTROL There are six individual speed settings for

6. ure as it is battery operated Once power is restored to the fan it will receive an auto update signal from the remote control within 30 minutes after power is restored All previ ously set modes and functions will be restored to the fan Button Operation Rapid button pressing causes erratic fan operation For reliable operation of the remote control and fan you must wait ONE SECOND between button presses to allow the radio signal to be transmitted to the fan and received Labeling If you have more than one Comfort Touch fan in your home we suggest you put an adhesive room 3 identification label on the back of Ww NS the control Labels are in the remote control package SPACE FOR LABEL General Your Comfort Touch remote control uses one of 15 different ra dio signals to control the fan This channel is set at the factory There may be times when the channel needs to be changed i e Two fans in the house set to the same causing interference Two fans are to be operated from one control Two controls are to operate the same fan see special Dual Remote Control section on the next page COMFORT TOUCH TEST PROGRAM Press the button to activate a two minute program that puts the fan through a complete functional test The test starts with a full screen display then the preset chan nel number before going into a full light fan and reverse exercise Follow the remote con

To enter the Safe Exit Program 1 Turn the off for at least three seconds 2 Turn the on gt La 3 Immediately operate the buttons in the following sequence FAN D e FAN 4 LIGHT D tg LIGHT _ After you hear the confirming audio 5 X P dg tones from the fan immediately press 4 The lights will blink to indicate this command has been accepted Note Both Light Minder and Safe Exit The lights will stay on for twenty seconds and then begin to dim After a programs can run at the same time total of thirty seconds has elapsed the lights will be off completely To however the dimmer cannot be used cancel the Safe Exit Program turn the off for three seconds the light may only be turned ON OFF INTELI TOUCH OPERATION HOME SAFE PROGRAM The Home Safe Program makes an unoccupied home appear occupied by turning the lights on and off at random times J To enter the Home Safe Program 1 Turn the off for at least three seconds 2 Turn the on 3 Immediately operate the buttons in the following sequence ciem CEN Clem Goran 4 A tone and flashing light indicate this command has been accepted This program overrides all manual control of lights and fan The lights will now be automatically cycled on and off in a controlled sequence as follows On 1 hour off 1 2 hour on 2 hours off 1 hour 1 2 hour then off 2 hours This seven hour pattern will repeat continu

10. or Winter use Saver or run the Test mode without affecting Security mode SECURITY MODE CYCLE 1 On for 30 minutes 80 bright 5 On for 60 minutes 100 bright 2 Off for 30 minutes 6 Off for 120 minutes 3 On for 120 minutes 50 bright 7 On for 15 minutes 20 bright 4 Off for 60 minutes 8 Off for 60 minutes You may still turn the light ON and OFF or OFF and ON manu ally for temporary lighting but the light will continue to operate automatically at its programmed times Changing the control channel 1 Hold the Ct button down until a tone is heard 2 The temperature display will show the current channel number 3 Press fan up or down buttons to change the number to a REMOTE ii unique number from 49 to 63 CONTROL DO NOT use other channel numbers CHANNEL 4 Push ms to return to normal operation NUMBER You will need to repeat this step any time you remove the remote Note Always change the remote control channel control batteries Record the new channel setting in the space pro first The fan channel can only be changed by vided on the rear label having the desired channel already set in the re mote control COMFORT TOUCH CHANGING CHANNELS FAN 1 Turn OFF power to the fan for five seconds or longer using the wall switch or circuit breaker 2 Turn the power back ON WAIT 20 SECONDS You have 90 seconds in which to compl

METROPOLITAN OWNER S MANUAL INTRODUCTION MOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS FAN INSTALLATION CONTROL FEATURES INTELI TOUCH OPERATION TROUBLESHOOTING INTELI TOUCH COMFORT TOUCH OPERATION TROUBLESHOOTING COMFORT TOUCH CONTENTS SAFETY FIRST Safety and the proper operation of your Casablanca fan both require a thorough knowledge of the product and proper installation therefore before attempting to install and operate your Casablanca fan read this owner s manual completely and carefully Retain this manual for future reference CAUTION To avoid possible electrical shock make certain that electricity is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box before attempting any installation procedure All wiring must be in accordance with the National Electric Code ANSI NFPA 70 1993 and the appropriate local electrical codes The National Electric Code requires proper grounding as a precaution against electrical shock A qualified electri cian should be consulted if you are unsure This fan is designed to be installed on an existing electrical outlet box The outlet box must be UL Listed for ceiling fan installations if it is not a new box must be installed Casablanca extension poles are available for sloped or high ceiling installations This ceiling fan requires a grounded electrical supply of 120 VAC 60 Hz and a minimum 15 amp circuit The maximum current requirement for the fan with light fixture is 3 8 amps The fa

TOR COMFORT TOUCH ADDITIONAL CONTROL FEATURES Additional control program features are available from the con trol panel by opening the control panel door To activate a control function press the appropriate button the display will indicate that the program is running In some cases you can run more than one program at once such as and sw and the display will indicate that they are both activated In other cases one program will override another as the two programs can not run together i e Full details explained the sections that follow CONTROL PANEL DOOR secu Ga Ca REVERSE inter CONTROL PANEL COMFORT Touch COMFORT TOUCH REVERSE FEATURE Pressing the button will change the direction of rotation An audio tone signals the beginning of the reverse sequence and you will see the airflow direction arrow changing The fan gradually slows to a stop then reverses direction Note This function does not operate if the fan is not running REVERSE COMFORT TOUCH AUTO SPEED FEATURE In the Auto Speed mode fan speed changes in response to changes in room tempera ture Push the button to start words AUTO SPEED show on the display Set the fan speed to the speed at which you are most comfortable Once set the fan will increase or decrease by one speed for

16. can remove heavier dust Surface smudges or accu mulation of dirt and dust can easily be removed by using a mild detergent and slightly dampened soft cloth An antistatic agent may be used but never use abrasive cleaning agents These will damage the finish Painted and high gloss blades may be cleaned in the same manner Blades Wood finish blades should be cleaned with a furniture pol ishing cloth Occasionally a light coat of furniture polish may be applied for added protection and beauty Never Lubricate this Fan The precision motor at the heart of your Casablanca fan features sealed bearings that are lubricated for life Do not attempt to oil the motor Changing Light Bulbs Be sure to turn power to the fan OFF at the wall switch or circuit breaker before changing light bulbs Replace bulbs with same type as removed from the fixture Each fan is rated for a maximum TOTAL wattage of lighting Exceeding the rated maximum allowable wattage for the fan will burn out the fan electronics module and void the warranty PROBLEM POSSIBLE REMEDIES NO FAN OR LIGHT Check main circuit fuses curcuit breakers or wall switch position Check all wire connections making sure the power is turned off during this inspection FAN WOBBLES OR SHAKES EXCESSIVELY Be sure canopy pin is properly set into the slot on the ball Check the screws holding the blade holders to the fan motor Tighten as necessary Check the angle of the blades to
